Southgate Motel

On arrival, the receptionist was outstanding—extremely welcoming, friendly, and helpful. She took the time to recommend the best places to visit and eat in town, which made a very positive first impression. The motel has a very nice pool located in the middle of the building. It was very clean and would be great to use on a good summer’s night. The water pressure in the shower was excellent, the bed was very comfortable, and the room was clean and well presented. Overall the staff, room quality, and facilities were strong positives

After heading out for dinner, we returned to find the motel fully occupied, with several Indian families staying on-site. Unfortunately, there was constant door slamming between rooms that continued throughout the night, making it difficult to get a quiet night’s sleep. In addition, there was a loud water pipe banging every half hour to an hour, which was quite disruptive. Overall the overnight noise issues were disappointing and impacted what we were hoping would be a restful stay

I liked how central it was clean and tidy

We had noisy neighbours kids were going in and out the room slamming doors.

The staff were friendly.

The room smelt horrible when we walked in, the sink was faulty and the bed had exposed matteress and duvet insert which is really unhygienic. All though the night there was lots of noise, every time someone used the tap or bathroom in another room it was so loud.

Bed so big very comfortable.

Shower room’s floor was little slippery while showering, need attention for that. Everything else was great.

exhaust fan in shower could use a clean, found a beanie next to the tv from previous customer. toilet roll holder in a odd position

I travel for a minimum of 12 weeks of the year & i would say that the bed was the best i have come across anywhere in Australia. Very quiet location & site overall. The blinds & curtains to make it dark are always a bonus as i have trouble at a lot of places where streetlights etc cause issues with sleeping
