"Can't beat the location"

8.0

The center of Cusco is Plaza de Armas and this little hostal (because it has 10 rooms and has to have 11 to be considered a hotel in Peru), is just ONE minute walk from the bedroom to the Plaza. The hostal is located in a courtyard and on the other side of the courtyard is the one and only Starbucks in Cusco (if you love Starbucks to start you day, this is heaven.) The place is clean, and quaint. Flat screen TVs in room. The place is quiet though if there was a party there, the rooms don't have much sound insulation. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

"Great location"

8.0

Steps off the Plaza de Armas. Clean basic accommodations. Very helpful staff. Starbucks next door, if you like that kind of thing. The floors in our room were very slippery, so be carful about rugs and stocking feet. The staff was very helpful and was willing to keep our luggage when we took our trip to Machu Picchu. We booked a night at the hotel for our return trip and our bags were waiting for us there.

"Great location/Accommodating staff"

8.0

The hotel is basic but was clean. Location is excellent. It is a few steps off of the Plaza Mayor, also know as the Plaza de Armas. The staff was very accommodating. Breakfast was basic but good. Starbucks is right next door.

"Cuzco 5 night stay on the Plaza"

10.0

The hotel is located right on the Plaza De Armas in Cuzco. It is close to everything, restaurants, shopping, local markets, pharmacies, 24 hour ATM's, churches and the Plaza itself. The Plaza is the center of activities. They close is to vehicle traffic often and have parades, concerts, and other activities. Be sure to be there on the weekend. Saturday and Sunday are both big days for the Plaza, none of the activities will show up on any schedule you can access on the internet. The staff is very helpful and all speak some English. Breakfast is served each day, eggs, coffee, juice, bread with jam, granola and yogurt. Plenty of hot water. Nice private bathroom.

"Costly Dive"

2.0

I live in Lima, Peru, and I have stayed at 8 hotels in Cusco. This hotel is far too expensive for what you get. There are several options within two blocks of the PLAZA DE ARMAS at about $5-$10 less per night which have better rooms, service and amenities. This hostel provides rooms with stiff blankets and towels which are falling apart. The breakfast is essentially, one egg, some cereal, and burnt coffee from a coffee maker. There is no doorman, and they lock the door at night, making it complicated to enter. The plumbing us old, and we were told if you choose to stay on the 4th floor, you will not have reliable hot water. Their cometitors of equal value in the same location, have full service breakfasts with fresh fruit (some even have omlette bars), and you can enter the hotel at night. I have not experienced plumbing problems with their competitors. Do yourself a favor and stay someplace else. You can skip the old plumbing problems, have a hearty breakfast and save a few dollars to buy an alpaca scarf.
