The Godley Hotel

I liked the comfy bed and blankets, the heater, and the location was very good. Right next to everything. Also great lighting, lots of options to light up the room , I liked that.

The shower smelled funny and the water pressure was very low.

Location great - staff very helpful - view fabulous.

Lighting terrible - no plug for the sink - coffee tea making facilities very average - the light didn't work and the lighting switches location was ridiculous.

Lovely place to stay over for the night, overlooking a beautiful lake. Lovely little Church which had a great big window overlooking the lake. Jack Rabbit restaurant was very tasty for breakfast and also we had dinner there.

Every was perfect during our stay.

We liked our clean and comfortable room. The bar was lively with plenty of food choices. The staff were very friendly and chatty. Parking was easy right out front.

THE BOTHERLESS APPROACH OF RECEPTION STAFF THE TELEPHONE IN THE ROOM WAS NOT WORKING AND NEITHER ANY INSTRUCTIONS HOW TO CONTACT THE RECEPTION, HOUSE KEEPING OR ANYONE. NOT ENOUGH BATH TOWELS, HAND TOWELS AND FACE TOWELS FOR EACH GUEST IN THE ROOM - WHEN PERSONALLY WENT TO RECEPTION, THE LADY WAS ACTING SMART TRIED TO GIVE ME A BATHMAT INSTEAD OF HAND TOWEL, AND FOR ONE BATH TOWEL SHORT IN THE ROOM, SHE AGREED TO GIVE ONE AS AN EXTRA BATH TOWEL - BY THAT WE UNDERSTAND THAT IN THIS HOTEL, GUESTS SHOULD SHARE THE BATH TOWELS - AND NOT A BATH TOWEL FOR EACH GUEST ?? THE PROPERTY AND THE BATHROOM SEEMED TO NEED URGENT RENOVATION AND MATTRESSES TO BE REPLACED ASAP ON CHECKING IN, WE WERE ASKED TO SIGN A DOCUMENT ON I-PAD - THAT NZD500.00 WOULD BE CHARGED IF THE SMOKE ALARM GOES OFF. THE OWNERS / MANAGEMENT SEEMS TO BE TAKING MAXIMUM ADVANTAGE OF THE TOURISTS COMING TO LAKE TEKAPO AND PIPPING OFF THEIR HARD EARNED MONIES THE STAY WAS FULLY PAID WELL BEFORE CHECK IN - FOR NZD292- FOR ONE NIGHT STAY AND VERY FRANKLY, IT WAS A COMPLETE RIP OFF. FOR FUTURE GUESTS TRAVELLING TO LAKE TEKAPO - PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY
