"Exceptional"

10.0

Excellent! We had a relaxing wonderful stay here wanting to be close to King Phillips tomb which us just down the street. The owners are very hospitable and have a wealth of local knowledge-their son by as studied archeology and printed out maps f ou r us of the nearby sites including the palace archeologists are restoring on nearby hill. The rooms were immaculate and breakfast was customized to our personal preferences many times with fresh local ingredients. We highly recommend this guesthouse

"Kuscheliges Gästehaus in ruhiger Lage"

10.0

"Good value guesthouse."

8.0

Great staff, very comfortable bed, excellent breakfast, WiFi, good position for visiting the tombs and a good position if you are looking for a break whilst traveling the ignatia highway. The bathroom, especially the shower would benefit from updating.

"A taste of the real rural Greece"

We stayed for three nights in October 2014. The guesthouse was very comfortable and the hosts could not do enough to make our stay ' home away from home'.

"Guesthouse in Vergina near the Royal Tombs"

10.0

The guesthouse is a family-run business and the family that owns it is absolutely lovely and extremely friendly, always happy to help or even just chat. Breakfast was a large spread including local produce (some home-made), and the rooms comfortable and tastefully furnished. They also had balconies (ours with a view towards the mountains). Parking and internet were free, and tea (usually with something homemade) was on offer in the afternoons. There were also signs to it from the edge of town, which was helpful.

"Simply the best!"

10.0

Everything about our stay here was perfect. The hotel is run by a tremendously warm and welcoming family - Maria, Spiros, Thomas and Olympia - who make you feel completely at home and so well looked after. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Our room was beautifully clean and well presented, the beds were extremely comfortable, the breakfasts are to die for (all the fruit, salad and olives is home-grown), and Maria gave us bowls of fruit to take to our room each evening - not to mention her fabulous home-made cake. Thomas, the son of the family, is enormously knowledgeable about the area and keen to help, advise and lend books and maps. And when I managed to leave my passport behind, Spiros drove all the way to Thessaloniki bus station to give it back to me. Truly this is a very special place run by the kindest and most thoughtful hosts you could hope to meet. The exceptional museum of the royal tombs is only a couple of minutes' walk away. And don't miss the School of Aristotle at Mieza, where Alexander the Great spent three of his adolescent years absorbing the wisdom of the greatest philosopher who has ever lived! (Thomas will tell you how to get there). We hope to return to Olympia Guesthouse and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting this interesting and beautiful area.
