Kedron Valley Inn

Breakfast wasn’t offered. We ate next door at the South Woodstock Store, which is always good. I liked staying in the adirondak unit behind the Inn for easy access from the car and no stairs. We loved Ransom Tavern. Excellent food and wait staff. I liked not having to check in or out as we were given a code to our room. In fact we never saw any staff other than at the Tavern.

Nothing not to like

Charming, immaculate rooms in the log "lodge " adjacent to historic brick main building. Beautiful VT setting. Only suggestion would be a good reading lamp between the chairs.

Wonderful inn and so pretty! The staff was amazing and very helpful.

Room was great and the inn was a beautiful building. Felt we were left on our own with no one on site to speak to. Description indicated that there would be no one at the desk. Manager was available via telephone. Would have been nice to have someone in person to communicate with.

clean and cozy

My king room (#19) was in the smaller brick building to the front of the property. The room was easily accessible from parking, large and comfortable. My only complaint is that the room didn't have its own thermostat and the heat was absolutely pumping, which made for an uncomfortable first night. I closed the floor heat vent the next day and was much more comfortable. The inn property is lovely, the tavern bar is cozy with great service, and the pizza is excellent. The country store next door makes great, quick breakfast sandwiches if you're heading out skiing. Would stay here again!

We stayed in a King bedroom in the brick building to the left of the main Inn building, and really enjoyed our stay! The room was super clean upon entry, and very spacious (as was the bathroom). The property and buildings have been around for a while, so they have that old Inn feel (slanted floors in places, a bit of an older building smell but not unclean or bothersome to us). The only thing we didn't love was the temperature control - there is no thermostat in the room and it got a bit warm at night. The bed was very comfortable, and the Inn provides plenty of linens/towels. Overall, we really liked the room. The check-in is definitely not like a traditional Inn. It is done all virtually unless you go into the main building looking for help (where we did find Mary, who was able to get us into our room an hour early - much appreciated!). We did not mind this, but I can see how it might be a turn off to some. We missed dinner in the Tavern, which looked delicious, but the Country Store right next door is great. We got some snacks/drinks for the room there, as well as breakfast one morning. They have a great selection of local food/drink items & gifts, as well as the usuals.

Loved the charm of the main house and nearby country store. Also loved Ransom Tavern.

Did not like that we stayed in back lodge. Thought we were staying in historic inn would not have booked if I knew we were in the back lodge. Also did not like that rooms did not have coffee maker And you had to walk to get coffee in the cold. And if you are a little late you had to go pay 3 $ for black coffee. Did not like that the fireplaces did not work. Why have them ? Big disappointment.
