Second time visiting Riu Olivia Beach Resort, the hotel staff amazing, rooms need updating, we were based in apartment 1107 next to restaurant which was very loud from 5 am cleaning and 12am closing, I would recommend not using this apartment for guests.

So, I'd read all the reviews and negative ones about food etc, but to be honest, I could not fault the hotel. I went on my own and the staff could not have looked after me better. I was not happy with the direction of my balcony as wanted sun at the end of the day and Berni on reception was so, so patient with me and offered me to go and look at three other rooms before I made my choice. The bed was super comfy and I had great sleep every night, no noise from other rooms (I stayed in the annexe). The food was great and so varied, I cannot see what people would have to complain about. There were many healthy options and everything was super fresh and well presented. The drinks were plentiful with no measures! If anyone is complaining about not having premium brand options, they should go and buy from the nearby supermarket. I have travelled on my own a number of times and I will definitely go back to Rui Oliva Beach Resort. Everyone is so friendly and everyone talks to eachother, it is a lovely atmosphere. The highlight of the stay was definitely all of the staff; as Berni on reception said, "we are a family", and it shows. The cleaning staff were brilliant, making up and tidying the beds every day. I honestly cannot fault the hotel. If you are disappointed, I would suggest you pay for a 4 or 5 star hotel or adjust your expectations. For a 3 star hotel, the Rui Oliva Beach is just fantastic. One last thing - the cockroach comments - I saw one during my stay even though I was on the ground floor - certainly no cause for complaint! Thank you to all of the staff for making sure I had a wonderful holiday. I will be back with my best friend later in the year!
