The staff are so friendly & helpful. This is a hotel where you get a personal service not just a transaction. The hotel has lovely decor & very close to the train station. There is a car park that you can use on a first come - first served basis, it is tiny though & cars are shoe-horned in, it also costs £25 for the night we stayed - which I think is expensive & wasn't made aware of this when booking via hotels.com alternatively I read in the room info that you can park in Q car park for a discounted rate through the hotel, which also is just a short walk away. The room was very clean & comfortable, 310 above the bar / restaurant. We heard no noise from below, over looking the street at the entrance. The mini bar & snacks are extortionate prices ! Buy some on the way so you don't get drunken nibbles when you get back to the room that cost you a fortune.

Nice stay close by the time the train station and everything in the city centre, in historical building. Breakfast is made to order, no buffet except for a few pastries. Bathroom is very good and modern design despite the period building, with quality toiletries.

Minor, brownie from the room service wasn't good and nothing like brownie, despite being warm.

Miss leading booking information when not booking directly with the hotel booking through booking.com the information was unclear the hotel requires £100 (GBP) deposit regardless if the guest has prepaid as in my case, I had prepaid and the hotel still wanted a £100(GBP) regardless of my saying I am only needing a bed to sleep in I do not need anything less other than a room to sleep. An unexpected experience that the manger of the hotel was inflexible to this point.( I do realize and appreciate they must have had guests in the past who have not paid - in this case the hotel needs to be clear with booking.com to notify on the top page of this hotel advertising with booking.com there is a mandatory deposit required, regardless and on top of pre-payment of the room in advance of arrival )

Excellent location right on city centre. Extremely polite and helpful staff. Room was beautiful and really clean really comfortable bed and powerful shower
