Balmoral Lodge Hotel

The lady at reception was nice and pleasant

Unfortunately the room we stayed in was in need of a good clean cobwebs around the ceiling and around window sills very dated

Location. Garden.

Very Dirty, Hairs in all draws, in the bed, lots in the fridge. Cobwebs all over the place. Carpet threadbare, terrible grouting round the sink and bath.

Nice people. Quiet room.

Dated is an understatement. Dirty, gloomy, sticky bedroom carpet, sticky bedside tables, peeling wallpaper, cobwebs, toilet that does not flush properly, disgusting old cushions on the bed and a decrepit chair! The Hotel Inspector would have a field day. I briefly considered breakfast but took one look into the sad dingy dinning room with the room next door piled up with old furniture and did a u turn straight out of the hotel.

The room was spacious enough. Nice surprise to have a bath in the bathroom as well as a shower, even if the shower was over the bath which was a bit awkward

Firstly, there was a mouldy, fluff covered malteaser on the floor by the side of the bed,secondly there was a used cotton bud under the dressing table. Lastly the cooked breakfast was not up to scratch, everything was fried including the hash brown😕I felt sick all day. The second morning I asked for poached eggs on toast so I wouldn’t feel the same. This was room 19

It’s location was ideal as it’s located near family who live in Southport

Came on Friday 16 th January about 6 pm the room was absolutely freezing straight from work we tried to have a shower the water was freezing messaged the lady to be told you need to run the water a while tried on and off for a hour still freezing cold fuming as came from work and wanted a shower we had to go to Morrisons and by a electric blanket a pair of thick pyjamas and a thick fleece told the owner next day how cold we was demanding to put the heating on told her we could not wash as cold water then she put heating on but was only on for a hour the bathroom is so cold radiator does not work and it’s filthy really not happy at all

Breakfast was delicious and very affordable, fantastic, efficient service from staff. It was 4 mins walk away from where I was going.

Unfortunately I didn't have a parking on premise. Blackout curtains would be a nice option to block light at night.

Friendly staff who made you feel welcomed. Breakfast was good too.
