Auberge de la Commanderie

A really nice two night stay in the heart of Saint-Émilion! My room (quadruple, as it was the only one free) was in the annex on the other side of the street from the actual hotel. It was spacious and impeccably clean and with a beautiful view of the vineyards next door. There is no lift in the annex , so carrying a large suitcase is a bit tricky, but it’s not too many stairs. I had the breakfast which was very good with fresh coffee and pressed orange juice and so lavish I couldn’t finish it on either morning. The town itself is so quiet at night that you can hear every passing car as there is absolutely no background noise, but I wouldn’t say it’s disturbing in any way as there’s maybe five cars passing. I would stay here again!

Lovely little hotel in a very pricey area. Great, helpful staff. Cute little basic room. Spotless. But you don’t come to St Emilion to hang out in your room. Nice breakfast. Gregorio was very helpful.

we stayed for one night with my parents. St Emilion is a lovely place to wander around and sample some local wine. The hotel was beautifully done, great decor- fresh, simple and clean and still kept some lovely old features. The staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast of fruit, yoghurt, bread and eggs was just what we needed. Great stay!
