This is NOT a five star hotel. Not even close. I’ve stayed at Movich Hotel before, and this last visit was a clear step backward. While there are still some positives—check-in was quick and the front desk staff were friendly—the overall experience no longer matches the pricing or the brand’s positioning. This hotel is priced like a luxury property, but it simply doesn’t deliver on that promise anymore. The issues started in the room. The phone didn’t work, which became a real problem later. The TV remote was also non-functional, forcing us to manually turn the TV on and off. Furniture throughout the room felt worn and poorly maintained—wobbly nightstands, aging finishes, and a general sense that upkeep has been neglected. The bathroom door was loud and stuck when opening or closing, and the carpet near the window was wet. That turned out to be from an open window that wouldn’t close properly because it was broken. For a hotel at this price point, these are basic maintenance failures that shouldn’t happen. Dining was another disappointment. The restaurant closes far too early for an airport hotel, which should cater to late arrivals. The room service process was also unnecessarily frustrating—no one explained how to access the menu, which we eventually found via QR code. With the room phone broken, we couldn’t even place an order ourselves and had to flag down a waiter in the hallway. The food, when it finally arrived, was mediocre at best: overcooked salmon with pasta, a club sandwich on plain, untoasted, mushy bread, and cold French fries. There were also smaller but telling issues. At check-in, there was an attempt to upsell to a “better” room by downplaying the one we had already booked—a tactic that felt unnecessary and misplaced given the actual condition of the hotel. In hindsight, it may have been a warning sign. Finally, the hot water never got properly hot—just lukewarm—which adds to the sense that basic standards are slipping.
