Lo Scoiattolo Hotel

Staff were v friendly and helpful. The evening food was incredible. Bar area was cosy and intimate after a the slopes with free salty snacks – classic!! Very enjoyable. You got a snow report every evening in your room and the staff helped us with critical opening information when were were snowed in, which allowed us to prepare and be ready to leave the resort to another they recommended (as Gressoney was closed due to avalanche / reclaiming work on our last day). But the staff helped us get direct to the car park of Pila, just over 1.25 hrs drive to max out our stay in Italy.

Forgetting our swimmers so we couldn't use the spa!! Getting snowed in. Nothing the hotel could do about either!!!

Struttura ottima, personale cordiale e ottimi servizi, consigliatissimo per un weekend o una settimana in famiglia o in coppia.

Breakfast ok, but frying an egg is not so difficult.

Dinner was mediocre at best and not very tasteful in general. Limited variety and too much cheese on almost all dishes. When we arrived we got stuck in a small attic room with sloping ceilings, the "extra bed" was an uncomfortable fold-out armchair and there was only limited daylight through small windows and a tiny balcony looking our on a dilapidated "Grand Budapest" hotel that had burned out decades ago and was still left standing. Only when we showed the photos on the Booking.com app of the room that we thought we had booked, did we grudgingly get transferred to another, better room the next day. That room was as expected; roomier and with more daylight. The staff was a mix of very friendly waiters and a waitress that was "as cold as ice", making a lot of noise when serving dishes and cleaning tables, not inquiring if we needed anything and not once showing a smile or friendly welcome. . .

We visited Lo Scoiattolo for a week long ski trip. The hotel is wonderful, clean, modern, very comfortable and convenient for guests, and very relaxing. The hotel staff are fantastic, very responsive, thoughtful, and accommodating for guests to stay worry free! We hope to return again!

We didn’t realise it was used by big tour groups, so the restaurant sometimes felt like a school canteen

Very friendly and clean, the hotel excels for its food. Daily dinner menus with a wide variety of well-prepared choices, and a competent breakfast. Nice bar with free snacks. Parking. Boot room. Sauna. Rooms are compact but very nice. Free WiFi. Ski bus. Facilities for children. Pleasingly you can control the temperature of each room - so many ski hotels are overheated.

Beds were a bit hard.

Fenomenal family run hotel, with amazing staff, attention to detail in everything. Very clean and beautifully designed.

Bed and pillows were a little too hard to my liking.

Hotel was excellent. Staff very friendly. Great room (we had a suite). Amazing food. Car service to/from the ski lifts. Very comfortable beds. Lovely area. Very picturesque. Gorgeous Christmas square.

Jacuzzi was too cold. Bath plug wasn’t working so water drained out.

The property is really beautiful but the services and owner were ridiculous. We booked the deluxe suite (with a sauna, bathtub, amazing Mountain View) but were not given our booked rooms due to double booking by the hotel which was unprofessional and greedy. In compensation we were first offered a junior suite which was a downgrade compared to our original booking as it only had the extra living space but no sauna, no bathtub and a very poor view from the bedroom. We then decided to go for a classic double room instead because of the better view. As there was no possibility of refund, we were offered compensation at dinner. Based on the massive downgrade and suffering on our part, we were only offered a €12 discount at dinner which was vastly lower than the difference in the prices for the two rooms. We had to make a great effort to explain that it was unfair and we deserved better service. Even after this, we were only discounted €26 which was still less than the difference between the prices of the two rooms. In any other hotels or restaurants in case of such a big blunder one would rightfully expect better compensation and humility from the owner accepting their fault and being apologetic about it. When in a different country, we felt that the owner took advantage of our helplessness and was absolutely shameless about the situation. I would recommend avoiding this unprofessional establishment where the owner behaved like such a cheapskate while speaking to us.
