Mahagiri Villas Sanur

Staff gets a 10/10, the real Balinese hospitality. Good restaurant with in-room service was very comfortable. Shuttle service was also excellent.

We would not recommend other families to stay here. Main reason is the fact that we had a big gecko (80 cm) in the second room that pooped in the baby cot the first night - yes exactly there... The employees advised not to sleep there since these big ones can bite, but this turned out to be the case for all nights we stayed there. The manager would not offer any satisfactory compensation other than a massage or a 10 euro meal, having to sleep with the whole family in one bedroom the entire 5 nights. Also we would find animal droppings on the dining table every morning, indicating there is a general issue with animals coming in. Of course the villas are located in a beautiful garden and we are not afraid of some bugs and small animals, but inside it should be relatively clean and free of biting animals so you can at least you can use the space. The roof had some big holes, so we think this can be solved easily. Second reason is that the villa is poorly maintained. Examples are the furniture, worn couch and chairs where you are sitting on the wooden frame of the chair since the cushions have worn out. Other example is a torn and stained curtain when entering the main bedroom. We got the feeling that expenses are being saved on these simple items at the cost of a comfortable stay.

The location in Sanur is so-so with all pavements being re done at the same time in all the area (God knows why they started everywhere at the same time instead of doing street after street) and we heard it's going to last until next year (2026). So be careful with where you stay as walking in the streets means walking on the road in the middle of the traffic. Also it's worth to mention that the closest beach is not the most appealing to be honest... Fortunately the villas Mahagiri gave us free rides everywhere, another proof of the attention to details and excellent customer service of the villas, we can't fault them they were brilliant!

Mahagiri was an amazing stay to end our Bali trip. Following the initial check in, key and general villa info - it was a short walk to our villa. The walkways were well tended with a lot of beautiful flora, and some really cute lighting during the night. There is a beautiful spa and restaurant on-site that is open until late. More great things to be said for this place: - Living/kitchen area can be closed for aircon but can also be opened up into the pool. - A lot of different breakfast options to pick from, which you can have at the restaurant or in your room. - Great location, walkable to local shops, cafes, restaurants, beach and ICON mall. - Bedrooms are super comfy and bathrooms were well equipped and very spacious. - Mahagiri staff were all so wonderful and very welcoming. A special shout out to Bayu!! - As we had a late flight to catch, we were able to store our luggage at reception and were offered to use the spa facilities for a shower before leaving which we appreciated so much.

Only a few issues we found particularly in the kitchen: - During our stay there seemed to be some plumbing issue specifically in the kitchen sink. We would hardly use the sink, being out during the day and some evenings or having dinner at the restaurant and breakfast being supplied. The sink would not drain and we essentially needed to request their engineering team to come and unblock. Service was excellent, they would promptly investigate and unblock - but this did happen daily.

Sehr freundliches Personal, liebevoll angelegte Villen-Anlage, Spa-Bereich und Massagen waren wunderbar, ein Ort zum Relaxen, verwöhnen und wohlfühlen. 2x tgl. Kommt der Room-Service und prüft die Zimmer, tauscht Badehandtücher aus. Citronella-Duftlampen werden aufgefüllt und am Nachmittag jeder Raum mit Moskitospray besprüht. Shuttleservice zum Strand geht super und reibungslos.

Es blieben keine Wünsche offen.
