Hai Au Boutique Hotel & Spa

Been coming to Hoi An for years now and Hai Au is definitely a great value for money. It has a great location within walking distance of the old town and a short bike ride or even shorter motorbike ride to the beach. The staff are always extremely friendly and helpful, Ruby is the best! On top of the great location, breakfast and bicycle rentals are also included and there is also a very nice pool, which is fantastic after a long day.

I have been very happy with this hotel. Quiet and clean rooms not far from the city center. Ruby at the reception speaks good English and will provide information and advice. I have been staying 4 days in this hotel. The staff helped me to organize a visa run to Laos and back. You can store safely a bicycle or motorcycle in their basement.

Hope it is ok to do a review when we haven't been able to stay since before Covid. I have selected July 2021 as the travel date but last date was actually 2020 no option for that We have stayed at the Hai Au Hotel many times before Covid. Have stayed at several other hotels in HoiAn but this is by far the most economical and has the friendlies staff and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Will be returning to Vietnam hopefully later this year and will definitely be staying here again. The renovations have made this a very up to date comfortable hotel and the buffet breakfast was always lovely. When we stayed here would usually eat in house several times a week as the food was excellent. Although I haven't stayed for a while I have no hesitation in recommending it.

The place was very clean and walking distance from old quarters. There were plenty of cafes near the place itself. But above all the staff was extremely helpful and very hospitable. The place being in budget is an added advantage too.

The bed was great, the room was big, location ideal. 7-8 min walk to the centre. The manager Ruby was fantastic giving us ideas of what to do & general advice. Staff friendly. We'll stay here again. Kudos!

The hotel has very friendly staff, specially Kid and Kate at the reception. The hotel is a tad out of the centre but still reachable on foot. The problem is the feeling of a hotel that needs some updating: - no lift and I was on the fourth floor. No one to carry my luggage when I checked in even though I was shown to my room all the way up. There is a sign stipulating that you can call the reception to have someone help you carry the luggage down when you check out but at this point, that was easier and I didn't call. The way up was a different story. - the room feels a bit empty. Something is missing in the decoration I guess. The fridge was so loud that I unplugged it. The next day, housekeeping plugged it in again. So I unplugged it again to sleep. Maybe it's time to buy a new fridge! - There were no face or hand towels in the bathroom. The lights in the bathroom weren't bright enough to shave. For women, I would think it's even harder to do their make up. - Poor Wi-Fi in the room - the chairs are too high on the terrace outside for breakfast and you can't fit your legs underneath. Buy higher tables or lower chairs! On the positive side, the room is large with a balcony. Even though there is no view really. Breakfast is good and appeals both for Westerners and Asians.

We had a super nice stay at Hai Au Hotel! Great breakfast incl. local dishes, very short walk to the old town and the staff was super nice, especially Kidd receptionist. We can absolutely recommend it!

Nice little hotel in good location. Did not like the fact that there was no elevator. Staff was friendly but not very professional. Breakfast was disappointing. Needs a bit of a overall as it was a little run down.

Friendly staff but property need upgrade. TV channels were poor in quality. Internet speed was good. No lift. Nice location that is close to restaurants and water.

This is a colonial mansion turned to hotel, with huge stairways and alleys between rooms; the dining room is also huge. We just love the classic look of the building. It is within walking distance to Old Hoa An and its many attractions (UN heritage sites, silk factory, river shore walkway), shops and local markets. Breakfast buffet has a good variety of western and Vietnamese food, we were there for 5 days and still enjoyed the menu. Our room booked through Expedia is large, comfortable and clean. It has a patio door opened to a small balcony, overlooking the alley along the hotel; we could see or hear the heavy rain pattering the glass, a nostalgic memory of rainy season in Central Vietnam. We already mark this place in our future visit to Hoi An.
