Cul-Erg House & Kitchen

We just spent the past week at this fabulous B and B and would highly recommend it to everyone. In a prime location, you can walk up the street to pubs, grocery, chemist, coffee shops and ice cream parlors. There is a bus stop just steps away that takes you to Coleraine to train into Belfast or the other direction to Portrush. JJ, Marie and James are wonderful owners who see that everyone is well taken care of. You will not be disappointed with any aspect of your stay. Pro tip- book with them directly for the best rates!!

I had the privilege of residing at the Cul-Erg House and Kitchen for a week while attending the Open Championship at Royal Portrush last week. I am very well aware of just how outstanding this establishment is having stayed there on previous visits to Portstewart. This is no ordinary B&B as the service and facilities are top quality while its close location to a bus stop and only a short walk to the main Portstewart promenade make it so very easy get around. Marie, JJ & James are wonderful hosts who go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. I hope that this most recent stay is not my last and have no hesitation in giving it the highest recommendation possible. Tom Thomson New Zealand

JJ, Marie and James were wonderful hosts. Cul-Erg is close to public transportation to visit the sights of Northern Ireland. The rooms are clean and the bed and breakfast is in close proximity to town. Would recommend visiting Cul-Erg House.

Fantastic stay. Great location - walk to the Promenade and beautiful sea walk to the Strand. Public bus outside the door directly to Portrush - to see British Open. Clean well appointed room and great breakfast. Thanks JJ and Marie!

Wonderful host & the best breakfast!

5 stars is an understatement. JJ, Marie, and James make Cul-Erg House what it is: an absolute gem. They are warm, kind, professional, and passionate. These values translate into their bed and breakfast. We had outstanding food. Their Irish breakfast and smoked salmon scrambles are all locally sourced and delicious. I learned about wheaten bread from James and haven’t had one that could rival Cul-Erg’s homemade version. Marie is a mighty cook. JJ was a steady presence throughout our stay and was always there when we had a question or needed a recommendation for the area. This place is a must stay.

JJ was the most wonderful host! We ate at a local restaurant and our waiter told us that Cul Erg, has a cafe that is her favorite place for breakfast. They make their own pasteries that are delicious. We would definitely stay there again!

My wife and I have just returned from a very happy time spent at Cul-Erg. What made this possible was the desire of our hosts J.J, Marie and James to go the extra mile to accommodate. Not only was the food excellent, but the cleanliness was exemplary. we highly recommend this B&B to any others who may care to sample.
