Very clean and comfortable

Music from the hotel was very loud

Convenient for access to local amenities. Nicely decorated, clean single room. Good shower but sliding doors did not meet a the bottom (reported to Vera as I left).

The back stair, which I was invited to use to avoid having to go through the bar is narrow, has a loose carpet on the second from top step and is really grubby. Dining area in morning was not warm. I was not expected for breakfast which I had booked and paid for. Member of staff did not greet me but checked the booking on a laptop as if to doubt my request. I had the receipt. Hastily arranged place setting and full breakfast served. There was nobody else in the dining room. Could not cut lorne sausage, drew this to attention of waitress who asked for my fork to test it (fork would not go through), as if to doubt my ability to cut through sausage meat. I was offered a replacement or another sausage which I declined. She took my plate as I had finished and must have explained the problem to the other lady who was heard to say "what a shame". The waitress had apologised but no further apology was offered by the other lady, whom I assumed to be in charge. I did not ask for a refund , to be fair, but there was no offer of any and, having paid £15 for breakfast, I would not consider this to have been remotely good value. Customer service overall was appalling, though Vera was very polite and helpful.

Location was perfect for me. Bed was super comfortable

The food was good. The staff were pleasant if a little confused. The lady at breakfast was very pleasant and professional.

The gutter outside the room window was leaking and dripped all night long keeping us awake, The noise from the bar area below was also rather loud with tables and chairs being dragged about after shutting time.
