Villas Alturas

My gf and I stayed here. The villas are not 5 star accommodations, more like three, but the staff are so welcoming and wonderful that you are made to feel at home right away. My gf and I made dinner in villa 1 while we were here each night, and we basically had everything we needed. Any time we needed a pan or something, the staff was happy to lend it to us from the kitchen. The views from the hilltop location are pretty mind blowing. I’d love to go back.

The level of thoughtfulness by the hotel is on a new level with all the necessities in the villa such as trash bags, kitchen ware, and more. It also has amazing view and service from all the staff. The only negative is the WiFi was poor but you’re on vacation...best to ditch the internet.

Excellent location. Safe area. Amazing staff who made our stay a memorable one. Although the villa provided us a comfortable haven during our stay, it could use some updating. It would also be great if the food they offer at their restaurant had a bit more flavor.

Liked: view cannot be beat, staff was very helpful, friendly and attentive and food and drinks were very good. Cons: need 4x4 vehicle to get to the property but was used to the steep uphill drive after the first trip up and down.

Bit of a trek from sanJose airport but well worth the trip. Close to both Dominical and uveta which have lots of activities like diving, surfing, horse riding etc. Lovely staff with amazing views. Next to animal centre so lots of wild animals to see.

Our stay was amazing. The property is beautiful. The hotel was clean, spacious, comfortable, and had every amenity we could need. The view from our room was spectacular. We spent a good amount of time during our stay on the hotel porch watching wildlife. Th staff was extremely helpful. The pool was in great condition and the food tasted wonderful. I highly recommend staying at Villas Alturas. The property also has a wildlife sanctuary which was another great experience and bonus. The photo I attached is the view from the porch.

Enjoyed our time at this location. Staff was unbelievable and the food was great. We liked the local restaurants but preferred eating at the hotel for dinner because chef would come out and prepare specials meals for us. The place was quiet, peaceful, clean, and we felt at home. Definitely recommend this place to our friends and anyone looking to enjoy Costa Rica and the experience of the RainForest.

Wow! This is paradise! The view of the ocean and the sounds of nature. We have seen so much wildlife from our villa, it's incredible. The room is quiet and private feeling. The staff had been wonderful and the food had been very good. I will definitely stay here again!

We just returned from 4 wonderful nights at Villas Alturas. We stayed in Villa 3. The view was spectacular! We had a lovely terrace that felt very private. Enjoyed sitting outside drinking coffee in morning, playing cards in the evening and reading in the hammock. The villa was large and comfortable with a separate kitchen, sitting area, bedroom and bathroom. It was larger than many one bedroom apartments. The staff was very helpful and could not have been nicer. The breakfast that is included in the stay was delicious with several options to chose. We ate dinner at the hotel 3 out of 4 nights. While the food was good, it would have been nice to have a variation of the menu. The location was good. We were about 5-10 minutes to Dominical and about 10 minutes to Uvita. The Nacauya waterfall was about 20-30 minutes. Manuel Antonio took about one hour. Would definitely recommend staying at the incredible property.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. All the food at the restaurant was amazing and you can’t beat the view! If you stay definitely do the sanctuary tour next door
