Haffa House Hotel

Last minute booking for 2 nights. Hotel is UK/US 3* at best. But twin room was clean, comfortable + hairdryer, sat tv & breakfast was decent. We had a problem with our shower, which although reception responded promptly by sending maintenance, the staff didn't understand enough English to understand the problem. They did offer to move our room which was fine. Reception friendly and helpful and most spoke good English. Location wise, 10km was too far away from the historic old town of Muscat to explore without hire car or taxis so it's quite isolated with no restaurants etc within walking distance. Fine for our 2 night visit but wouldn't stay there longer. Word of warning if you intend to book excursion tours through the hotel - do not do it. We booked an "English-speaking guided tour" excursion out to Forts only to discover it was effectively an Indian expat called Rauf whose English was nominal, knew nothing about the places he was taking us to and essentially was just a hired taxi driver. Book your excursions independently or be disappointed.

We stayed in this hotel twice because of its affordability in a very expensive city for hotel accommodation. The staff were polite, helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean, although it was a little bizarre that they only stocked each room for one guest, even if your booking said two guests. This meant we had to ask for extra towels, glasses etc. breakfast is good and varied. The location in Ruwi offers excellent Indian and Pakistani food.

Good value hotel in Ruwi close to local shops, Muscat and Mutrah (souk). Enjoyed 5 nights at hotel. Restaurant food was excellent and service by Amelie, Glory and other restaurant staff was first class. Good car parking.

I had a very comfortable stay for 5 nights and enjoyed everything about this hotel such as reception and room service, food, location etc

Staff were very friendly, the hotel was clean, free transportation from and to the airport, and it depends the propose of your trip. its close to Matrah and the port

good value for money hotel

The hotel is very nice and has excellent service from the staff. The furniture in the room was a bit dates and old, TV remote was missing batteries which showed that the room had not been checked properly. The hotel is not licensed for alcohol but that was not a problem for a 1 night stay.

It was great, nice accommodation, clean, WiFi is excellent, Food very good, staff king and at your service all the time, I'll come back for sure whenever returning to Oman. Only Issue is they don;t have a taxis list or service apart from the hotel vehicles. something to improve.

The staff couldn't have been more helpful and there was a car which could take you anywhere in Muscat for £8 -£10 but it was a bit off the tourist trail. The gym was excellent but the swimming pool quite small and very cold. Food in the hotel was good but the breakfast was super and very good value.
