Hotel La Renaissance

The hotel was very difficult to find as the approaches were undergoing major work and we couldn'y get near to the hotel. due to the lack of street lighting and the poor state of the pavements around the hotel my wife suffered a fall caused by a large unmarked hole in the pavement, it could have been serious but she escaped with a bruise to the back of her head.

Due to road works parking close to the hotel was difficult

Lovely big room. Views over the marina. Central location. Plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Very friendly welcome. Good service.

the bed was uncomfortable, and we were on the 3rd floor with no lift, even though there were empty rooms on lower floors. the whole town was in the grip of extensive roadworks, and impossible to drive about. it took an hour to travel the final kilometre

I arrived late (11pm) and staff sent me the front door code and left the room key for me in a box. Didnt have to check in and pay until following morning. Very convenient. Excellent central location. Close to ferry and restaurants. Very short walk to the train station. Would stay again!

There was a very strong unpleasant smell in the entire hotel.

Hostess very accommodating of our needs. Owner run business. Great location in Cherbourg centre. Good breakfast.
