ETHOS Bertolina Wellness Urban Living

Very central location over looking the Old Town. Lots of restaurants and bars within five minute walk. Beach 10min walk away. Ideal location if you don’t want to use taxis etc. staff were lovely, they arranged for a birthday cake for my wife and some flowers with a few beers. They left us alone but were around and easy to contact if we needed anything.

Bathroom was a little dated and well used-could do with an upgrade. Lovely room though with a balcony and great view, but over shadowed by the noise from the old town bars every night. Even with earplugs in the music from the bars and clubs went on till 4am most evenings. Ideal if you’re on a party weekend/hen do etc.

We have visited this venue many times over the last few years, it’s a favorite of ours and the new management especially Stefi made us feel most welcome.

A few of the extras like the beach bag were no longer there which was originally a nice touch.

from the moment when i made the booking the communication for requests were excellent, the welcome we received and services were first class

only down side was pool water was very cold but this is normal in Portugal

We really enjoyed our stay at Ethos Bertolina as the first on our road trip around Portugal. Stefi and her team were brilliant, very attentive and happy to help with anything. Stefi was available on WhatsApp from the moment we booked and helped prompt with certain activities we could book such as the spa experience. We had breakfast and the spa included, both well worth it and highly recommend. The Spa experience was at a sister hotel opposite and consisted of a 50 degree sauna and 47 degree steam room that were booked for us for an hour so it felt very exclussive and private. There are also spa treatments available to book which Stefi was more than happy to assist with, I just provided a preferred time and she did the rest! Cristina was my masseuse and she was brilliant, even brought the spa experience to my hotel room with the help of Stefi. The location of the property is right in the middle of things, overlooking the main square,making it easy to get around and find restaurants etc. The room was spacious and very comfortable.

The only note I'll make is with the location being above the main square there is noise from the bars below into the early hours. This wasnt a problem for us as we are deep sleepers and the rooms are pretty well noise insulated with the balcony doors close but if you are a very light sleeper you might ask for a room facing the other side.
