It was good for those in a budget.

I was given a key to room with already there

The manager was very gracious, kind, and friendly. It was clean and quiet, considering the area.

The property across was a very rundown, decrepit, albeit open old school motel. My husband says it looked like a crack house, but I think it looked more like a very low income/homeless area. That wouldn’t have been so bad—I don’t judge people based on their circumstances as long as they behave themselves, but the Microtel does NOT have its own entry off S 8th St. You HAVE to drive thru that parking lot to get to the Microtel. We were worried about the security of our car, and the staff asking us not to use the side/back entrances didn’t help. Otherwise, the normal complaints…pillows were too small length wise and poofy…water pressure left a lot to be desired, and the AC was adequate, but not great.

Hotel staff was kind, you could tell they try to keep it clean, and good options for breakfast.

The location; the surrounded business were not clean and manicured. Very hard to get into the correct driveway. It was farther away from U of A then expected. We also were the first room right beside the lobby so you can hear people getting breakfast. You can also hear the chairs make loud screeching sound when people pull them in and out from under the table. It's very loud.

Comfortable beds, very clean, staff was friendly, I arrived early and they allowed me to check in a few hours early.

There is a old run down hotel next to it, that has been turned into apartments, it made the area sketchy.
