Exceptional standards of everything supplied in the room and quality of all the necessities from the bed to the appliances it has everything you would want or need all at a high standard. Clean, fresh, light and cosy and with a stunning view to compliment it all. A real pleasure to stay. We will definitely be back!

DEWe liked Bellrock Lodge and this little village so much, we even extended our stay! :) It is worth staying longer in Kororareka Russell and especially at Bellrock Lodge, so let us tell you why: Bellrock Lodge is situated on a little hill (if you walk, there are a few steep meters) and because of that, you will have the most amazing views from your terrace over the coast. On clear days you will even see as far as Waitangi. The apartment and the terrace are quite spacious, even the bathroom offers more than usual space in rental properties. It is very nice equipped. The garden is beautiful so you also see beautiful garden greenery from the terrace. The hosts Catherine and Stuart are very kind and responded fast via WhatsApp. Their sweet dog Piper was also a great host and excited to offer play time with her favorite football and such :D Catherine and Stuart were always very hospitable, so for instance, if you get in a morning rain like us, getting new towels is easy peasy, just a message/call away ;-) The Lodge offers great amendities: laundry, dryer, DVD Library (great selection, we loved it), CD and Book Library aswell... To top it off, the Whirlpool and BBQ area are great, with superb views also. We loved to enjoy the Spa, especially on rainy days. In addition to that, we highly appreciated how thoughtful everything is equipped, there are umbrellas in the driveway, wineglasses from plastic for the Spa, different chairs (even comfy reading/TV chairs), more than 2 different towel sizes and many more things like that.. We have travelled a lot and Bellrock Lodge is one of our favorites. You nearly forget, that you are at a self-service accomendation because everything is so thoughtfully done. It is worth staying longer, you can experience a lot in the area, walk to the beaches from Bellrock if you want to, get groceries and have great restaurants/cafés in town.
What is not to like? We didn't miss anything and had a perfect stay, but you should be aware that there is a few (maybe 20?) steep meters to get to the Lodge. The walls are a bit thin, we didn't mind though and it was still quiet and tranquil enough for us. (We live in a calm 5000 ppl village, so in a calm environment)
