Thi Thao Gardenia Hotel

Room was big, clean and comfortable. Staff English wasn't great which lead to some confusion. The facilities of the hotel (jacuzzi, restaurant) were not made clear, and a room service menu in my room was not able to be ordered from. When I called the desk they had no idea what I was asking for and gave me the extension for the restaurant, which didn't work. The location was great, just a 2 minute walk to the market and 5 minutes to the lake.

Great hotel about five minutes out of the centre. Near sinh cafe bus station. Jacuzzi was hard to find and staff a bit unfriendly there.

The Staff in the little Hotel are first Class. The Bell Hop was a Little lazy to help most of the time. The Room had plumbing problems the shower was not sealed with Silicone so water was all over the floor. The sink and Shower did not have a water trap and the smell of sewer gas was very bad at times. No way to heat the room and it was cold, which is the problem in my new hotel. Good Location a few buildings down the hill to where you can rent a motorcycle. I stayed 7 days and for the price it gets 2 Stars. The Staff are very nice and helpful.

The staff spoke little English, but tried hard to help. There was no in-room safe even though it was advertised as having one. Breakfast was acceptable although nothing special.

We added another 6 nights here. This is a clean and simple family run Hotel. You cannot complain about this budget priced hotel with a fresh made breakfast for my wife and I. I stay at 5 star Hotels and I can enjoy 2 star as well. Great local PHO for just over a dollar, just up the street around the corner. Near to the big market place and the Lake in town. So many cheapo's here complain about things that are minor. They are too cheap to go to the Hotel thats ten dollars more.

We booked a room that was advertised as having a lake and garden view. The room we got was anything but and was obviously of a lower standard than what we had booked, paid for and received confirmation from Expedia. It smelled of cigarette smoke. After complaining we were shown another room which smelled even more strongly of smoke. We settled for a third room. From the outset no assistance was provided with luggage. None of the rooms had a lake and garden view. in all three rooms the refrigerator had been turned off. None of the rooms had a fan (we were told that no hotel in Dalat had airconditioning). It was possible to open a window which meant that traffic noise and loud music, especially over the weekend, was an issue. The buffet breakfast is very much aimed at a Vietnamese clientelle.

Bad services with unfriendly staff. The receptionist did't know any thing, go around the hotel to ask for info. Cannot charge by visa. We never come back thís hotel again. May be they don't welcome guest from booking hotel website.

The room was ok: clean and pretty new. But we were not happy with the way the staff treated customers. They speak hardly any English and when I neede d to use the internet because of a medical emergency they didn't offer any help. The breakfast is poor and be aware of noise during the night because there is a karaoke bar on the roof (drunk guest can also cause noise in the hallways during the night).

The one thing that made me very mad right from the start with this place is the "free breakfast buffet" which was not a buffet at all, and as they explained to my Vietnamese wife, there were not enough people for the buffet, so you have to order off the menu, and they don't charge you for the food you order (not clear to me if they would have charged if you reordered or not), but if you want a soda like a coke or something, you need to buy that for a buck, or you can bring the one from the room for about 75 cents. I was not happy with the stay because of this, as I felt like I paid extra for this place so I could get breakfast buffet included, but they didn't have it, so I could have just stayed at another place for a lot less money. All in all, I will not stay here again because of this, and I will not recommend this to any friends or anyone. This is a horrible business practice, and it has just lost at least two customers that return to Dalat regularly. The food and drinks in the room (not that great) were cheap enough for you to eat and not worry about it, and even though I was angry about the breakfast, when I checked out, they said I owed nothing, I knew I ate two bags of chips, so I told them and then paid for them even though they didn't catch it. I didn't go to the Jacuzzi or massage parts of the hotel, so I cannot comment on those, and overall, the hotel was clean, but I still won't go back.
