Satomo Ryokan

First and foremost, the staff was incredibly welcoming. Situated just a mere minute from Kyoto Station, the hotel is very conveniently located for easy travel access. Access to the large baths. Provided all the amenities, including a yukata. The futon was made and nicely folded up with thick blanket and pillow daily. We had our luggage forwarded here and it was ready in our room when we checked in.

The bathroom in the room is quite small with a bath shower. We are required to leave our shoes in the lobby shoe shelves (likely as the rooms and hotel floors are tatami)

It’s very near to kyoto station. Staff are very hospitable and helpful.

I didn’t like the vibe honestly. It’s not what I’ve expected.

1. Room not so clean. Found dirt on blanket. 2. Required guests to leave shoes at lobby and to wear common slippers to room. This is very unhygienic to share slippers with other guests. 3. Room heater will auto off after 3 hours, causing room to be very cold. Need to keep waking up to on heater again 4. Toilet is very dim and cramp.

The location was great. It was close to Kyoto train station. Close to a few restaurants. The staff was super nice and friendly

It was just ok. I was expecting more. It was older and dated and dingy.

Traditional Japanese breakfast was awesome especially on New Year’s Day. I loved the sleeping arrangements for our family to share New Year’s Eve together.

The bathroom/toilet light is quite dim.

Great location. Short walk from Kyoto Station via the Underground mall. Friendly and helpful staff. Love the on-site onsen.

The AC in the room was running really noisily. We had to stuff paper bits onto the unit to soften the sound.

The worst place to have one night stay. This is not a Ryokan in fact. Trust me. You shiukd have enough time to make decision!
