Spluga Sosta & Hotel

Very nice hotel with very clean rooms and very hospital staff. Hotel in front of the road, but there is no disturbing noise from it. Good view like a bonus :) Free parking behind the hotel ;) Good restaurant/bar in the hotel.

I was blown away by this off the grid hotel! From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and at ease and treated like frequent guests. We enjoyed super great cocktails with a fresh pasta before retiring to our well appointed beautiful rooms. We stayed only one night which is a pity as I would have loved to experience more of the friendly hosts' hospitality. A wonderful breakfast set us on our way. I would recommend this hotel to all... An affordable stay over close enough for short day trips to Lake Como.

- There was no English speaking staff available during our stay; we had to use Google Translate every day to interpret for us, - When I asked to be moved to another room, I was told that this was not possible; nor were the problems rectified. - We couldn’t use our laptops because switch-plug was different while we came from a regular European country, the Netherlands; we had to buy a new socket. - According to a staff at the bar, rooms were cleaned regularly between 7 and 10 AM, while we woke up at 9, and had breakfast at 9.30. Once our room was not cleaned, and ignored. - Most importantly, my wife got sick on May 21st and there was no one at the reception to help us. We tried to call the phone, while the phone was ringing, there was no one available to pick up. We had to google and drive ourselves to a clinic nearby. - There was no information in English available regarding breakfast and other facilities in the room! Most importantly, no respond to my e-mail and complaint! Never again!

We sort of had to stay here since the pass up to the Engadine was closed and we didn’t find any other hotel in the vicinity. Friendly staff were helping us to check in even after midnight. No idea whos crazy idea it was to have all these useless lights on the walls for freaking everything...lights, heating, lights again, other controls, lights in the bathroom you cannot turn off. The result was that the room is semi lit up all night. Wonderful. And then there was noise all night from the street, some drunk people standing in the parking lot right below the hotel. Great. A true paradise!

We stayed here one night, en route on a driving tour. The hotel is located on a main road in a commercial/residential area, alongside a local car-park. The reception lady was very friendly and efficient & showed us to our room within minutes. The hotel and rooms are modern and well decorated in a boutique hotel style. The rooms are well suited for tourists, with a comfortable bed and modern bathroom, with a 'rain' style shower. The TV has plenty of channels, including several with English option. The room included an empty fridge, with free drinking water. Free (but slow) Wifi is provided. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and enjoyed the simple and tasty selection they had to offer. Again, the restaurant service was very friendly and efficient. Despite being on a main road, we heard no noise from the road & slept well. A great hotel for access to Lake Como or to stop en-route somewhere.

This is the second time we stayed at this hotel and it didn't disappoint. The rooms are clean and modern and well equipped. Our room had a shared balcony - would have preferred our own balcony - but it was fine. Breakfast is lovely and relaxing - plenty to choose from and eggs to special order available as well. The hotel is located within a short 15 minute drive to Lake Como and all of the major attractions. It is an amazing deal - as the 15 minute drive will save you hundreds of dollars in hotel expense - yes - that much. Parking is available for free just behind the hotel - and if you decide to stay and eat - the restaurant is small - but the bar and wine list is huge! AND - the food is delicious - made fresh from what is available at the market that day. There is also a fancier restaurant just across the street that is worth sampling at a neighboring hotel. We tried each plus a restaurant right on the Lake the following night - unbelievable - and wonderful!

Great location for star touring the mountains are close the lake is close and many hidden rivers where you can escape the heat of August, try the tandem paragliding flight over the lake its amazing.....

The decor in lobby and rooms looks like a modern Decorator magazine and its one of the cleanest hotels I've ever been in. Fresh luxury sheets and towels, friendly faces willing to please the customer, and quiet if you get a room away from front. The free breakfast is lovely with yogurts, cheese, meats, fruit, pastry, and gluten free options. They even have nice simple meals in evening if you need. The guest is treated like royalty and every desire is met. Now this is how hotels should be!

After a nice drive over Spluga pass we spent a night in this comfy, modern and welcoming place and enjoyed our stay there. Very nice people, great illy espresso and a modern and spacious room. Comfortable beds and real fast wifi access without any hassle with passwords... Carla, the owner has a very convincing philosophy about getting 4 stars for her hotel. I think many managers or owners of bigger hotels should feel challenged by this customer oriented attitude - a rare experience. Well done Carla, keep on going! By the way: we travel with our dog and there was no question or extra pay, but when we entered our room there was a dog matress right away!
