Fersal Hotel

I would've rated it an 8 but had challenges with the overall experience. What's good about the place is that it is near some important establishments, most especially the government offices in Cubao area. This is a good place to stay just for a night (not for long stays) if you ought to find a place to rest. They have the basic needs in the room: electric kettle, mini fridge, slippers, toiletries and towels, hot and cold bath, working a/c and drinking water can be refilled (from a gallon of water in the hallway) using the pitcher inside the room. The customer service part is okay. Breakfast is included on the option I booked so it was convenient given that the restaurant is only in 2nd floor. Pillows and bed were decent, not a 10/10 for comfort but it was okay. They even had freebies when we checked out.

Had a minor setback upon check-in. Key cards won't open the door to our room. Needed to go back to the reception lobby to ask for assistance cause we were not escorted to our room and had to find it ourselves. They had to switch us to another room, which though is the same type but on the downside, not yet ready, like the a/c and lights could've been turned on. Expect the location to be buzzing with noise from jeepneys and buses since the building is situated in front of a busy road. It becomes tolerable if you had a very tiring day so you'll still get to sleep. The bed sheet could be thicker so it'll be more comfortable to use. Place looks old and could use some repainting or perhaps a renovation. The lavatory / wc was teeny tiny small and it's probably not foreigner-friendly. I mean, the space is not comfortable for the taller and bigger built physique. Also, there were strands of hair inside the room and the restroom. The hotel should invest in improving their amenities like changing basic TVs to SmartTVs with Netflix or Youtube and other streaming apps. Wifi could also be improved as it ran slow. A/c unit from outside the room was jurassic (doesn't have remote and needs to be manually operated). In this tech age and era, you'll lose the competition with upgrades from nearby airbnb places if the hotel won't keep up with the pace. Overall lighting from the hallways to the rooms could be better and should be welcoming cause tbh the place looked dull. Who would want to stay on a sad-looking room? Makes you wonder as to when the last time was that an exec or the management tried to visit, inspect or even stay in different Fersal Hotel branches. Would I recommend this place? Yes, cause it was still a fair experience but if you are looking for something more modern, tech-centric and comfy, consider other bnbs.

The location is excellent, especially if you’re exploring the area. It’s also very safe — there seems to be a security presence right in front of the building, the reception service was professional and helpful and wifi works well. Check-in was fast and smooth, and the room was spacious and comfortable.

In the bathroom, it would be better to have a curtain on the window for more privacy, and the shower curtain could be replaced, as it seemed a bit worn. The room could be a bit cleaner, particularly on the ceiling — there is a sort of second layer very close to the actual ceiling, and it hasn’t been cleaned properly.

Made a booking 2 nights however night need to change it for 1 night due personal matter. I paid my stay in the hotel and not in the booking.com. I do not know why they have the hard time to refund my payment. The hotel advise me to modify my stay on-line which i did. It shows lack of of competitiveness and decision making on part of the staff. It should be handled easily.
