Room nice but so called continental breakfast was piss poor just a cup of tea 2 tea bags to last 3 days and the noise from the pub below was a bit loud
I had the opportunity to stay here recently for a two night stay across a Friday and Saturday night. The new owners are really friendly and accommodating to any requests. Breakfast was lovely
The Hussar is a pub in Garlinge, with rooms above the pub. The hosts were friendly (under new management) & the facilities were very clean. However, the mattress was of poor quality and I barely slept during my stay (despite sleeping on top of a folded duvet, I could still feel the springs underneath). There was also an issue with the noisy bathroom fan which should have switched off automatically, once the light was switched off (as opposed to the 45 minute delay). The room had a central heating radiator, but there was no heat during my stay. I stayed in Room 2 and did mention all the above issues to the owner(s)/staff. The pub is situated on a main road and has ample parking and there is a regular bus service.
Excellent hotel, great owners. Met all the requirements
The hotel itself was fine, but I booked a 5 bed family room and when I got there the manager told me they don’t have a 5 bed room. She knew we were coming but didn’t think to ring us ahead of time or make arrangements for another bed and to be honest did not seem to care in the least, the staff member who was most helpful managed to push the two singles together of which myself and my two children had to share - therefore it wasn’t the greatest nights sleep!

We loved our stay here and will return whenever we go to Margate and Broadstairs again. The hosts were amazing, friendly and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. The on site Thai food is the best we’ve ever tasted, freshly cooked by an expert chef. Take the 8 or 32 bus to Margate. The bus stop is right in front. The Indian restaurant across the road has some unique and very delicious dishes. Free parking and central location meant that we could drive to many different beaches within 10 to 15 minutes. Great place to stay if you have a family of young children. Our 7 year old loved it and liked the lawn and playground for him to play in.
Overall disappointing experience. I been told that check-in is only until 10:30 pm ! But this has been sorted by the on-site staff . I was expecting better standard although I enjoyed the service by the owners
