Amazing in every way. Have stayed three times and would love to stay more

The gas log fire was wonderful for the cold weather. It kept the villa cosy and warm. Having the spa bath was a real bonus as well.

Be aware that there is only 1 single function for the spa bath. The remote control indicated 3 levels of jet strength, plus lights, as well as heating. When I enquired about that, because I thought it wasn't working, I was told that none of those buttons were used. Just basically jets on and jets off. (Not particularly strong). The lighting in the villa (Villa 4) was abysmal! I went as a solo traveller, with the intention of doing a lot of reading of books. This was not possible in the villa. The lighting was very much soft and low, mood lighting, with limited natural light. The large window was in the shadow of neighbouring villas. When I commented on the poor lighting to the staff member, they said that some villas are darker than others, depending on which way they were facing. Be prepared to use the torch on your phone! You'll need it to look in drawers, cupboards, and in the bathroom. You'll also need your torch when navigating the potentially dangerous steps, up and down to the door of the villa, again with inadequate lighting at night. And get your torch out again, if you're looking for a power point near the bed. You'll have to move the bed, because it's hidden behind it, and you're going to need that torch!

Peaceful, clean, beautifully lit and just all around a really nice escape. Always smells great too. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great location (7ish mins to Daylesford) and some nice locals in Hepburn as well such as the General Store). Good writers' retreat.

Only thing is the property at the back makes some noise during the day (sounds like drilling or sawing). It's happened both times I've stayed. Not much they can do about it though.
