Hotel Lago di Como

Wonderful little hotel with charming staff. This is a quality hotel with conventional styles, an absolute bargain for what you get. Ideal location for the harbour, bars, shops and train station, loads of food choice, spacious room that's made up daily, great shower pressure,. This side of the lake is well served with trains north, so it's easy to include a trip up into the Swiss mountains. It's spectacularly beautiful area. The only cons we noticed were that - it's a couple of hours by train from Milan Malpensea airport. It's not difficult to book the train tickets and you don't need to validate the tickets seperately. It's a train into Milan and then another train out to Colico. - just watch when you are brought bottled water for the table as it costs 2.50 euros each time. Top Tips If you don't fancy what's on the menu, you can have any of the homemade pizzas from a long list instead. At breakfast, they will make you a fresh Americano/Espresso coffee if you don't like the coffee in the jug. It's the narrow 2 pin plugs that you will need. We'd fully recommend this hotel and would love to come back one day.

Great location in a beautiful village. The food was great. Were there half board and dinner was exceptional. The staff very friendly, especially Marianna, Fatima and Alessandro. Room was clean and a lovely Juliette balcony. Thank you to all at this lovely hotel for a wonderful stay.

Typical small Italian hotel. Good links to transport to visit other areas. Hotel staff were very friendly especially ladies on reception. Breakfast had plenty of choice and agree with other comments about pre-cooked food being cold for later arrivals at breakfast. Suggested they cook to order. Evening meal was plentiful but if you cannot find something to your liking try the many pizza on offer. Room was a little dated and towels could do with replacing. However room was serviced daily.
