Clarion Hotel Trondheim

Breakfast was expansive. Room was good. Waterside location. Restaurant was good, but not cheap.

Dotted architectural facade interferes with the view. It's a bit of a walk from central Trondheim (but it is close to the Hurtigruten terminal, which us why we had booked it)

We appreciated the early breakfast. The gym was fantastic for our use. The restaurant staff members were very cordial. View from the top was picturesque. Parking was available. Check in was easy. We were impressed with the robes!

We wanted all three rooms together by room type kept one room apart. It was still okay. The shower was hard to control and we had a little water mess until we learned out to use the system better.

Close to train station. Very modern public spaces. Excellent and generous breakfast. Comfortable beds. Good value for money. Really friendly staff in breakfast room.

Maybe because of the ongoing strike at the time, but the room felt rather under prepared: 1 disposable cup in total for 2 people for a 2 night stay. No bath mat left out. Plus our shower over bath leaked masses of water onto the floor because the seal was missing. Also air con / heating controls didn't seem to respond when you changed them, so room felt a bit cold. Be aware: this is a large business/conference hotel and has that atmosphere.

Good room and location. Easy to navigate.

Sadly there was a service staff strike when we visited which understandably affected the experience. We were warned before we arrived, so at least we were prepared.
