Ellis Beach Oceanfront Bungalows

The most relaxing idyllic location imaginable. Great value for money.

Ellis beach bungalows were perfect for what we wanted on our holiday. A relaxed accommodation set up, with everything we needed. The beach at our doorstep, the call of the curlews and even though we were part of a busy holiday community we still valued our privacy.

Old property very clean fantastic position

Got one of the older cabins. It reminded me of childhood holidays 40 years ago. Probably time for a revamp.

The location makes this place, simply nature at its best. The cabin was clean except the floor needed a serious mop. In the 4 days, 3 nights we stayed our room was not serviced once and we didn't receive clean towels either. Which for $190 a night l thought poor. We asked for early checkin which was denied and then asked for late check out even an hour or so as our plane was at 2 o'clock and was also denied as they said they were booked....Out of the 6 Beachside cabins there was only one other cabin booked for 2 nights during our stay, didn't believe them, just not nice boardering on rude. Not sure l would go back :-(

Cabins hot and aircon was loud and didn't really work. Staff didn't seem overly concerned.

The weather wasn't great but it didn't matter. Would stay again.

Falling asleep and waking to the sounds of the waves on the largely deserted beach. A kookaburra catching his breakfast & a pod of dolphins. Beautiful.

We only had one night and we were going to stay on the esplanade in cairns but when this came up on Wotif i didn't hesitate to book. Having the ocean at your front door hearing the waves beat any high rise building. The cabins were ok you definitely paying for the location.

The best thing was it's location - very beautiful. But it is not close to any hotels ,restaurants etc. Rather there is a pub across the road with very limited meal options. I was disappointed staff did not ask us if we needed more towels and we ran out of tea bags. No staff contacted us at all at any time and we were there several days. The only contact I had was when we booked in and out and no feedback was sought. Probably wouldn't stay there again and would not recommend it.
