Marina Hotel at Shelter Bay

The drive to the Marina was serene. Awesome views. Breakfast was good. Only half an hour away from Colòn Freezone. Friendly staff.

Poor communication - it wasn't made clear to us where to check-in and we had to go searching. We weren't told that there was internet provided for guests by the hotel and we had to pay per day for lousy internet from the Marina, only to be told at the end of our visit that there was an alternative. The bright lights from the hallway were clearly visible from the large spaces in our doorframe which made it difficult to sleep at times. Balcony is a shared space, not private. The bathroom could use some TLC, since its an older building.

The location for this hotel is what makes it, the only accomodation close to Shelter Bay Marina which is where I needed to be so that was perfect. Room was quite nice, air con, TV, housekeeping everyday, overall nice. Good place to stay if you're needing to be in the area, right on the dock by the boats and The Dock restaurant is attached to the hotel downstairs which has great food and drinks!

Checking in was rather difficult, couldn't find anyone when I arrived and eventually figured that I just go down to the restaurant. Communicating via Bookings.com is quite delayed so don't expect prompt replies. The door to the shared balcony didn't lock so that was a bit concerning but overall it's safe marina/area so wasn't too worried. The price overall was very expensive for what you're getting but for the location / lack of other accomodation nearby I guess they can charge whatever they'd like.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean, room was very nice. WIFI service was on the slow side, yet good enough to browse webpages.

Nice balcony overlooking the marina. Close to all the boats prepping to go through the Canal. Very friendly staff.

Great place to stay if your boat breaks down. Nice pool, good food at restaurant. I wished we could get coffee before 8am.
