Very nice hotel, clean and very welcoming

Wow, who would have thought you would have such a bad nights sleep in such a lovely 4 star hotel! To the guests in Room 337 on Saturday 21st December, you are appalling! I wish the hotel staff could have done more at 1am in the morning to shut you up but it seems you ignored the staff as well as the other guests. So for my really bad night at this hotel I wish I could say good things but it has been completely spoiled.

The hotel is getting very tired. The rooms are not very clean and the beds uncomfortable. Hotel restaurant is good:

While service and helpfulness of staff was fine, the room (suite) was not very good and not a value for money. It was outdated and likely to have bed bugs as we are (1 day later) coming up with bites. Suites should have better amenities, given that rooms below this category had sauna and nicely refurbished showers. We didn't even have a shower cubicle (instead a not so good corner bath) and arriving back to hotel to see our room at 1am meant that we couldn't be bothered to even complaint and just got on with it. TV signal was terrible too. The breakfast which was included was just OK, perhaps a greater variety of warm meals would have worked. We had to wait 30 min to receive a warm meal

Whilst the comfort room was nicely presented and had good amenities, the club night on Saturday evening (presumably the floor below) was so loud and bassy that the walls, floor and bedboards rattled with every bass beat, which meant no sleep until 2am earliest. This may not be a problem for some people but for us this was unacceptable. After explaining this to the reception the only response was that it goes on until 2am - so essentially 'deal with it'. We would therefore not recommend this hotel to anyone staying on a weekend.

It's the second stay for us, however this time we were given a not renovated room and we were apalled by the difference! I have to say, I was a little discusted by the state of the bathroom! There is no ventilation or possibiliy to open a window in the bathroom, black joints between the tiles in the bath (no separate shower) , broken sink, all just looked very grubby and outdated. I expect better form a 4* hotel. When I addressed the issue with reception I was told, that they were aware of this fact and that the rooms would be renovated sometime soon and that some had already been done. However, we were not offered a better room! And I couldn't help the feeling that because we didn't book direct this time, we got the grubbier room. Two years ago I booked direct and got a much better one, otherwise we would not have gone back!! Also, there is a ventilation going on (if your room faces in that direction) until about midnight that can disturb the light sleeper. On the positive side, the food is still very good!

The reception staff and the breakfast in this hotel are in order. In the restaurant we waited over an hour for our meal. In the hallway to the rooms the carpets were worn out and full of stains, the hallway was also only a little dust-sucked. so lay beside my room door nearly 4 weeks long a dead bow. The lock in the room was broken. The room couldn't be locked. The carpets were also full of stains and were not vacuumed regularly. There were several dead bugs in the room for over three weeks. The couch looked like it was used in a porn movie. Several times I had to go to the reception because of the coffee capsules or the coffee cups. Once I found my room door open when I returned from work.

It is a nice hotel. Kinda bare bones but still good. Get a deluxe room cuz they have personal saunas.

Very nice large modern hotel on the outskirts of Venray. The room are spacious and well appointed with excellent wifi and plenty of space to work. There is a lounge area with TV screens showing sports. Food in the evening is pretty good and by all account the best choice in the area. Close to the motorway network and with a large car park, this a great choice for the commercial traveller.

This was my first visit and the bedroom and bathroom were smart and nothing was too much trouble for the staff, particularly as we kept the bar staff up late. The surrounding area was quite quiet and my sleep was not interrupted.
