Amsterdam's Curry Mansion Inn

Beautiful stay

I loved the property. It was so beautiful. Only issue I had was with not realizing there weren't any maids around to ask about towels or extra pillows.

It was a beautiful mansion. The mattress was very old and uncomfortable. It’s very close to Duval St, so noisy at night. I can’t believe they didn’t offer coffee and tea or fresh water for the price we paid. If you wanted coffee you had to pay for it. All of the staff was very nice!

The historic home was quite interesting, but not kept in great condition. The only "hosts" we saw was a young lady tending bar. The location was excellent... within walking distance to almost everything! Our room was lacking in electrical outlets and general lighting. They could greatly improve by installing a simple multi-plug charging station! The carpeting on the stairway was quite dirty, but it really had an antique/vintage quality. We were somewhat surprised to see ghost-hunters walking around downstairs one evening, although we did not see any other-worldly visitors! We certainly felt as if we had stepped back in time at Amsterdam Curry Mansion!

We had a nice stay at the Amsterdam Curry Inn, but please be aware, as we were not; not a clear description, it is run like an airbnb. There is no front desk; all communication was through text messages (and they were quick to reply). There is no daily housekeeping (no making of beds, fresh towels, bathroom wiped down) unless you wish to pay an additional fee. However, if you ask, they will bring fresh towels, but not take away the used towels. And bring your own Kleenex. I asked about getting some in the room, and they don't "provide Kleenex". But they did give me 2 purse packets of Kleenex. The location was perfect and very walkable to restaurants and activities. Would I stay there again? Probably not as the price for 3 nights was outrageously high and I expected it to be run like a hotel and not fend for yourself.

Property is falling apart, doors don't close, pool falling apart, most of the electric outlets don't work.

Excellent location. Room old and dirty. Over priced

Check in is at 4:00 pm and there is no way to get early check in even though there is nobody in your room. All of the other hotels including the high end resorts will allow you to your room if it’s ready. Checkout is at 10:00 AM when most are at least 11:00. There was long black hair on the wall in the shower, and I am a redhead.

Like the quiet, close to most everything, did not like not having an attendant on the property. Did not like not having coffee or microwave e in the room.

I paid a lot of money for this property. Except for the location, not as advertised. Dingy, musty in common areas. Complimentary coffee, breakfast and happy hour no longer included. No maid service. No onsite staff.
