La Quinta by Wyndham Auburn

They had one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. The staff was wonderful, helpful and friendly. The only drawback for me was my room on the backside of the hotel next to a freeway…. Noisy.

A recent stay at LaQuinta Auburn hit me with a surprise at checkout. I was a walk in and requested a room. I was not sure how long I would be in area so I requested 3 nights. Due to the location’s proximity to several casino’s and being a weekend I felt it was best to book 2 days at weekend rates and an additional day at weekdays. It turns out I completed my task in 2 days and went to checkout early instead staying another day. At checkout I was told I need to pay for the 3rd day due to early checkout. I was told it was a local rule of this hotel. I asked to see the policy in writing as it was not posted anywhere. I also asked to speak with hotel management. The clerk sent a text to manager. In the meantime I stood there for 30 minutes and she got not reply. I then asked again where this policy was written and was it on any of the items at checkout in. I asked for managers card and was given a hand writtten card. I asked for a call back when the manger came in. The next day I called and put on hold. I called again next day and was told she was not it. Called the 3 day and left voicemail. Here I am on day 5 complete silence from the manager. I feel bad for the front desk staff that has to defend a policy that is not posted or written down. This appears to be specific to this location. I stayed at LaQuita 3 others times on this trip. I was a repeat customer at this location but not now. Staff was great, the only problem I had with the room was no water in the kitchenette and crappy response from manager.

The room was nice. I didn't use the services except for breakfast one morning.

Gym was in good working order. The pet area was sufficient.

Was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. A very nice value. Would very much recommend. The staff were outstanding and very friendly.

We were next to the elevator and the ding of the arriving elevator was very loud.

Close to Casino and Outlet mall

We were able to get in a little early and everything was so nice and clean.
