Buckler's Africa Lodge Kruger Park

Amazing location looking over the river. Super close to the Crocodile Bridge Kruger entrance. Food was very tasty and good selection of options. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, we were shown in by Lucia at reception who was lovely!

The game drives were more expensive than I’ve experienced at other lodges. Also weren’t offered any breakfast or snacks on the first day drive. And no coffee on either game drives (would be a cheap and easy addition) The room strongly smelt of damp. They ran out of gin on the final evening, also the wine (we tried white and rose) was not good. Easy to get amazing good value wine in SA so definitely an area of improvement.

Food, staff, rooms, view all exceptional. Big ups to Tshepo....

War ein ganz tolles Erlebnis! Unser zweites Mal im Kruger, das erste Mal im Buckler‘s, wir kommen nächstes Jahr sicher wieder! Super Lage, 5 Minuten Fahrt zum Park Gate, sehr schönes Anwesen, tolle Zimmer mit Park Views, sehr gutes Service, alles top sauber, gutes Essen, tolle Massagen, das ganze Team hat uns jeden Wunsch von den Augen abgelesen, also definitiv empfehlenswert, zudem ist im Vergleich das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut!

While we appreciate and are respectful of all cultures and religions, we were informed the night before our arrival that the bar would be closed for the second day/night of our stay. No explanation. Upon arrival, we were told, by disgruntled bar and admin staff, that one of the directors of the Lodge had invited a number of friends and family to stay for a few days, starting on the second day of our booking. They explained that these guests kept strictly halal and therefore no one else in the hotel was allowed to purchase or consume alcohol.Even the wine glasses were taken out of the cupboards. We were furthermore told that we could not have diner in the designated area that evening as the tables were now reserved for the party. No problem with accommodating other people, but we find it odd that all cultures/religions must adapt to one particular one's rules or beliefs without forewarning. If I want it to be quiet from 6 pm, should all other guests adhere to that?
