Racha Island Resort

We arrived in the morning with a boat we've booked through the hotel from Phuket - which was fine on the way over there. Check in was fine, but the staff is very young and barely speaks English, so it’s very hard commutating. They have a foreign owner but he wasn’t around much. The hotel has a lot of people on the tour coming for lunch. They take up the entire restaurant and the sun chairs - which there’s only 8 of. The hotel have to turn off the power 4 times a day on certain times which is informed by check in so that’s fine but it got turned off way more or for longer periods than promised and also their wifi in non-existing.. The next morning we got breakfast with undrinkable coffee and a piece of cake with hair in it. After this we just had to get out there, al though we booked two nights but we just had to get out of there. We bought a roundtrip speedboat ticket from Phuket to Koh Racha. But apparently you buy in on a snorkeling trip - which weren’t told. So on the way back to Phuket we were suddenly a part of a 2-hour long snorkeling trip? We even asked the staff if we were going directly to Phuket and they said yes (again with language barrier). We ended with not taking the boat and all of sudden it was the last boat that day so now we had to book a long boat for 4000 baht in stead of the 600 baht we payed for the shared. The staff gave me some woman on the phone that spoke English and she arranged the boat and gave us a better price, as I demanded she should. And also what is up with not telling people they have to be a part of a trip??!?! So all in all, a really unpleasant stay, would not recommend anyone staying here!

Very beautiful hotel in a beautiful location on Racha island. Very friendly staff and managers that will provide you all the service you need. The rooms are very nice and got a lot of space. The pool is very nice aswell They have a great resturant by their beautiful beach.

We completed our fantastic holiday with 3 days at Racha Island resort and before we depart tomorrow I wanted to share our days with you and urge you to book this fantastic, rustic back to nature resort experience. Kindness and genuine 5* hospitality is what defines a hotel more so than a price tag and glossy brochure that often can be sterile and overpriced..so the fact its not listed as a luxury resort and does not try to be is honest and endearing, they care for your experience and all the staff led my the lovely Peach are intrinsic to the 5* experience..from the welcome to the service at the bar, restaurants and just being on hand has been superb. I will 100% return and share our stunning stay with anyone coming to Thailand..so happy new year to all at the Racha Island Resort and I am sure you will have all the success you deserve .. Thank you all for a brilliant stay

We were welcomed on to the boat by Peach who was just the best host and made sure we had everything needed for our stay. The island is breath taking and food and service were both great. We will definitely be visiting again

Everything was perfect! This is our second year coming here and will not be our last! The staff are so attentive and welcoming you really feel at home from the moment you step off the speedboat! The check in and check out process is so easy they take care of all of your baggage and it's so fast. The food at the restaurant is delicious everything we ate , we loved. And all of the waiters are quick and always paying attention. The beach and the rooms are absolutely beautiful and the housekeeping does an amazing job!! Dont forget to tip , they work super hard and totally deserve it!!

We had a chino room next to the pool. It was a clean and spacious room (+ no spiders detected!). The pool area is very nice, peaceful and relaxing. Overall, we liked the hotel a lot.

Vilket fantastiskt ställe! - Edens lustgård? Med en härlig pool, i en fantastisk trädgård och till det en i det närmaste egen vit korallsandsstrand känns det som man har hamnat i paradiset. Vi njöt till fullo här i fem dagar, åt vid stranden, blev "ompysslade" av personalen och sov i ett härligt stort rum vid poolen. Hotellet är det enda som ligger vid denna underbara strand (som dessutom kan erbjuda väldigt bra snorkling :) ) ! Söker ni härlig natur, lugn och ro och en känsla av lyx så kan vi varmt rekommendera detta. Lars o Petra

HOTEL: The hotel occupies its own beach in an extremely beautiful bay with coral-white sands and turquoise sea. Where other beaches are often photoshopped, here you get the actual colors. You can place your towel on the beach, or pick a deckchair with umbrella, or simply sit in the restaurant next to the beach. The premises are very large, you always feel like you are in a huge garden with birds and butterflies. They grow their own vegetables for the restaurant, and you can taste that. ROOM Our room (Chino pool view) and the bathroom were very, very spacious, nicely airy, and you had a terrace in front of it to sit, read, chill, or have a sundowner, while observing the vegetation and the pool. Flooring is made of beautiful Portuguese tiles. That whole Chino group around the pretty and shady pool is the center-piece of the resort and reminiscent of the Sino-Portuguese architecture you find in Phuket Old Town, Malacca, Georgetown, or Macau. STAFF The star of the hotel are the people working it. It is a family business, and what a nice family they are! The staff were also super helpful. Our daughter arrived with high fever, and at night I unfortunately broke the bottle of fever reducer. Next morning they had an equivalent shipped from a pharmacy on the mainland. There is also a permanent doctor in the hotel. We were also taken to a beautiful sunset spot on the rocks on the other side of the island and collected, opened and ate oysters right there... In general, everyone was accommodating of our every need. SUMMARY Upon booking, I was a bit unsure given the mixed reviews, and after arrival for a day or so I was trying to understand why some people were disappointed with this gem, and I can only explain some of the poor reviews with off expectations. This is not a sterile business or chain hotel, this is a very nice, beautiful, charming, and relaxed family-run resort.

My partner and I intended to stay for 3 nights we ended up staying for 5. The private beach, the exceptional staff and the room was unforgettable. With a unique Portuguese colonial plantation inspired set on a spacious white sand and palm tree acreages, it is definitely one of the most unforgettable stays in Thailand. Each day we would head to the beach front restaurant to have breakfast before jumping into the crystal clear water but beyond that it was hard to leave the room - it was beautiful- we were fortune enough to have the chino garden view room with the extended balcony, which we spent a great deal of time; reading, writing and mediating. If you prefer character and spaciousness over modern and uniformity, this place is for you.
