The key to the room was not in the self checkin lock when we arrived and we were told the owners were 20 mins away (However they took nearly an hour) and we were nearly late for a wedding. The facilities were average at best and the AC and the bathroom fan weren't working. Disappointing.

The grounds are absolutely stunning and so secluded. You feel like you’re in a little hideaway.
The rooms were a little bit cold when we first got there but we just turned the AC on and it was fine

Thin, paper walls could hear everything from other rooms. Bed was awful, very uncomfortable and doona didn’t have a proper cover. Doona was covered in stains. Bathroom vanity was dirty, not cleaned properly. Carpet was covered in stains and felt dirty to walk on.

"An brief escape to Provence. The decor, fittings and grounds reminiscent of Provence."

Attention to detail in keeping with tradition. There was an immediate feeling of coming home. The separate living area a bonus, sufficient china and cutlery ideal and products supplied to enable leaving the kitchen as we found it.
We were the only guests until much later in the evening which meant a sense of isolation and insecurity although doors were locked. When multiple rooms are occupied this would not happen. We were surprised that it was self check in and it took a while to sort out. Although we managed well, less able guests would have difficulty with shower access.
