Berenbell Vineyard Retreat

Hard to have a better experience of the Hunter Valley than by staying at Berenbell Vineyard Retreat on Mistletoe Lane Pokolbin. We (my husband and I and our adult daughter) took the two-bedroom lodge with king bedroom and bathroom upstairs, queen bedroom and bathroom downstairs, with sitting-dining room and kitchen (with stovetop and microwave) also downstairs. Outside a terrace, with table and chairs, and a beautiful view over vineyards to Brokenback Mountain. We were there for a family reunion at a vineyard nearby, but it would be absolutely ideal just for a relaxing break to read and meditate looking at that beautiful view. The lodge was so generously provisioned - a dozen eggs, bread, butter and spreads, six bottles of orange juice, a variety of teabags and a coffee maker, plus six delicious blueberry muffins. And a bottle of local red wine. A very warm welcome from the hosts, Ken and Suzie, lots of brochures with information and maps, and the potbelly stove already stocked and ready to light. Perfect!

My partner and I, along with some friends, recently stayed at Berenbell, and honestly, I can’t rave about this place enough. From the second we arrived, Ken and Suzie made us feel so welcome. You can really tell they love what they do, and they’re super passionate about the property and local wines. The cottages and lodges are so cute and have the most amazing views. Our room was cozy, spotless, and had this great little patio that looked out over the hills. It was the perfect spot to relax with a glass of wine after a day of exploring. Plus, their sweet dog Ginger popped by to say hi most mornings, which was a fun little bonus! Whether you're into wine or just want a chilled getaway in a beautiful spot, Berenbell is an awesome choice. The little personal touches from Ken and Suzie really made the stay special, and I’m already excited to go back!

I cannot say enough good things about our stay at this charming bed and breakfast! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the wonderful hosts Ken & Suzie, who made us feel right at home. Their hospitality truly set the tone for an unforgettable experience. The location is absolutely stunning, whether it was while sipping coffee in the morning or enjoying a glass of wine or 2 at sunset, the serene and peaceful outlook was the perfect little escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. If you’re looking for a place to unwind, soak in gorgeous views, and be treated like family by incredible hosts, this bed and breakfast is the place to go. We can't wait to return! 5 stars, highly recommended!

The cottage was cosy and private, with a lovely log fire and great views. The owners were very friendly and provided breakfast supplies and a bottle of wine. The perfect place for a relaxing weekend away.
