Hotel Varuna

Spacious room with couch and two comfortable chairs. Probably the quietest Hotel I've stayed at in Columbia, the windows don't have much soundproofing but it was quiet at night. The staff is professional, friendly and accommodating. Very nice views from the restaurant and well attending staff. Cleaning staff are good at what they do too.

The only complaint is noise from the street side window but it was minor. One consistent issue with cities I've stayed at in South America is the allowance of motorcycles and cars with loud mufflers. Hotels should work together to encourage City management to ban modified mufflers and reduce noise from car alarms.

I was expecting more for the price we paid, it is a hotel only to sleep, nothing interesting to do, no coffee, tea or water in the room. Service was good, the staff was very nice and kind always open to help.

The location is convenient

As soon as you get to the hotel they ask for your credit card and charge your entire stay right away. As soon as they get their money they let you know that no guests are allow past the lobby or you will be charged 80,000 pesos. Pictures show a gym, well they DO NOT HAVE ANY GYM EQUIPMENT. The hotel is supposed to have a jacuzzi. Well is is out of service. Don’t get me started with the wifi. It is a complete joke. Let’s talk about my room. It seems the bathroom has been fixed multiple times, floor, painting are peeling, towel hooks don’t work. Shower clogs and water pools as you take a shower. Doors need to be slammed in order to be closed. Be ready to be woken up as other guests slam their doors closed. My room looked nothing as in the pictures. This hotel is not a 3 start hotel AT ALL. It is more like a hostal with elevator. I paid three nights and left after the second. Good bye forever hostal Varuna
