Hotel de Silhouette

The location is great and in the center of town. Right across from the food hall and lots of shops.

We were placed in the handicap/accessible room which clearly was not redone to accessibility standards. However the issue was two fold. Main issue was that the shower floods, not only the bathroom but even into the main bedroom, due to lack of drainage. The tiling you could tell was not laid properly to allow for downward drainage into the drain, the tiles actually pointed up towards the drain in the center, so the water inevitably flowed back down towards the walls. I took a shower of less than 3 minutes and within that time the room had flooded around 6cm and was about to run into the bedroom (with wooden flooring). On the accessibility front, the bathroom had been redone but was not done to meet safety standards. There were was one safety rail that had been installed right next to the toilet but none within the shower. The shower head was hand held only with no holder to place the shower head above you to wash your hair, meaning you had to hold the shower head the whole time while washing. This is not suitable for someone who needs to hold onto a handrail while showering. Nor was the flooring suitable for someone with mobility issues: stone that was extremely slippery, no grip or markings to provide somewhere safe to stand while showering. With the amount of water and flooding issues this was even more laughable when we noticed that there were electrical outlets close to the baseboards and they all were covered in a metal encasement. The light switch was also metal, which I question the decision to use in a wet electrified environment. The Dyson hairdryer is a nice touch, but I cannot safely use that when standing in 6cm of water. When brought to the attention of the staff, they were understanding and tried to accommodate, with rubber gripping for the shower and plenty of towels to mop up what water we could, but fundamentally the room should not be used until the bathroom is fixed.

Tha staf was great. The room was superb. The location super. Super with the gateway and garden.

No place to store surfboard. (Dryingroom for wetsuitwould be great). But we were happy that we could take the board to the room.

The location is perfect for accessing shops, restaurants and both beaches. The hotel has a lovely laid back ambience and the staff are very attentive and friendly.

While our room was clean and the bed comfortable, I was disappointed with how small it was. Our room was 120A and there were a number of rooms with an A appended. These rooms appeared to be annexed to the larger rooms. I felt this should have been made clear to me when I was making the reservation on Booking.com as I would have requested a larger room.

Die Lage der Unterkunft ist perfekt zentral in Biarritz gelegen. Die Räume waren gut durchdacht!
