"Great hotel close to ferry"

10.0

We spent 2 nights at Vista las Islas while visiting the Nicoya Peninsula. Communication with the hotel was excellent and Anja was very helpful in setting up our taxis to and from the ferry as well as for a nature walk in Curu Wildlife Refuge with Milton Hancock. We loved the outdoor restaurant with beautiful views of the Gulf of Nicoya. Staff did not speak a lot of English but were very friendly. Food was good but service was slow. Our room was at the very bottom of the hill so it was a steep climb on stairs and a ramp to reach the room each time. Dragging our luggage up to Reception on our last day was a bit of a struggle. Our balcony had a beautiful view and comfortable chairs. It was lovely to have fresh flowers decorating the bathroom upon arrival.

"Amazing hotel!"

10.0

All I can say is WOW! This hotel is luxury on a budget. My family was blown away by the view (from room, pool, restaurant), the friendly and helpful staff, the delicious breakfast, amazing infinity pool, and fresh flowers decorating our room. 2 nights was NOT enough! Beautiful Organos Beach was minutes away, and it is also close to the Paquera Ferry, great restaurants and bioluminescence and other tours. While enjoying the pool, we watched Scarlet Macaws fly overhead and Howler Monkeys playing in the trees. Such a special place!!!

"Stay in Paradise"

Our only regret is that we only stayed here 1 night. The location, views from the rooms, pool and restaurant, the amenities, and service were top tier luxury. Highly recommend!

"be careful which room you pick."

6.0

we ended up with a room that was below the restaurant. it had additional noises from the chairs moving and the water usage upstairs. the building it was in was older. the lunch we had at the restaurant was truly terrible. breakfast was average. they had plenty of variety. parking was not enough and so when we came back after an evening kayaking, we took the last spot which wasn't really a spot which was a little stressful. the road leading up there is extremely steep and rutted with lots of rocks. we did not have a problem with the vehicle we had and given that it was the dry season. I would be very cautious if it's raining season. the pool was lovely and The view that's truly beautiful.

"A nice short stay, close to ferry"

8.0

This is a good hotel with a stunning view— was a perfect one night stopover before taking the ferry. Very clean with friendly staff, great pool area with cabanas for shade while you enjoy the food. Smart tvs and air conditioning, we picked a room with a panoramic view of tortuga island— it was very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast bar was poor quality, dinner was okay at best. Remote location, need 4x4 to access.

This place has so much potential, I’m not sure if it’s more cause we were there on the beginning of the off season or what. The location is remote, the small town near by, Paquera, has a very small small grocery store and there isn’t much else around to do or purchase food at. The restaurants VERY expensive for the quality of the food. In our 10 days there it was our most expensive meal and the lowest quality. We did manage to find a delicious restaurant down toward the ferry, just past Bharia Rica bioluminescence tour called , el punto and we ate there a few nights. That place was amazing. The rooms were minimal for the cost and the amenities at the hotel were lacking, there was minimal staff nothing to really eat during the day. Breakfast was okay but the same exact thing every morning. Plus side there was tons of beautiful wildlife and flowers. The view is amazing and you can walk to playa orangio - we did see quite a few snakes on the walk. The beach was pretty littered with trash that had washed up but if you walked around the point it wasn’t as bad. There is a bioluminescence tour and a tour to isla tortuga near by that’s very cool. I would likely try something else next time.
