Petra Guest House

This was simply the perfect hotel for my wife and I. The very closest hotel to the entrance of Petra, easy walking distance to numerous external restaurants, excellent air conditioning, and a friendly and very responsive staff of whom many speak English. And to top it all off, “The Cave,” a bar/restaurant located within a 2000-year old Nabatean tomb. If I had another hand, I’d give the Petra Guest House 3 thumbs up!

My only and favorite place to stay in Petra. Wonderful and clean room and great service. So nice to relax and dine at the Cave Bar after walking in the Petra Archaeological Park.

Great location. A bit like a high end motel. Staff is wonderful. Rooms are good sized. Bathroom was very nice. Wonderful buffet breakfast. Cave Bar is fun and light menu offered is very good. You are as close to the entrance to Petra archeological site as you can get. This is definitely the place to stay if visiting Petra.

People were helpful and friendly the food was fine and our room spacious.

We stayed for two nights and the great advantage of being in this hotel was we could get into Petra early when it opened with the entrance just next door. The room was a good size and clean with a comfy bed. We would definitely stay again but we did have a couple of small complaints - Firstly, we were told the breakfast started at 6am but when we got in there at 6am there was no hot food ready. This didn't start to come out until around 6.30 when we were wanting to leave to get into Petra! Secondly, we had a drink in the Cave Bar which is great and decided to order dinner there. We found a table which was suitable to eat at, many in there are very low. After we ordered we were asked to move to make room for a group of 4 people and were put onto a small table which wasn't suitable for eating dinner. So we decided to eat outside, where the tables are good, but it was very cold so not really ideal.

A little outdated and not a great mattress but overall, a great stay and perfect location. Staff were very helpful also.

We would have given this a perfect score if there had been no smoking in the lobby and bar. The staff is friendly, well trained. The breakfast is fabulous. Being right at the entrance to the Petra site is a huge plus. Find time to go to the museum...it’s very good and it’s free.

Amazing location for touring Petra. The entrance is seconds from the hotel. Accommodations basic but nice. Staff very friendly.
