Agriturismo Borgo San Martino

Terrific hospitality, great food and setting. Cannot fault it.

These are not dislikes - just observations. We would have liked some more savoury options at breakfast eg eggs. All the homemade sweet options, yoghurts etc were beautiful however. I would have liked the option of selecting a choice at dinner to reduce the amount of food waste. For example I would have liked the option of reducing either a course (pasta) or ask for smaller portions. The food was exceptional but we found it too much by the 3rd course!

Our family's journey to Sulmona led us to the enchanting Borgo San Martino for one peaceful night, and it was a true highlight. From the moment we arrived, the breathtaking mountain views unfolded before us, a vast, majestic panorama that instantly relaxed the soul. The profound quiet of the surroundings was almost magical; it was the kind of deep stillness that ensured we all slept profoundly, like babies. Waking up was equally delightful, as breakfast was a true celebration of local agritourism. The wonderful variety of fresh foods, particularly the exquisite, melt-in-your-mouth pastries, made for a perfect start to our day. Borgo San Martino offered an authentic and tranquil escape for our family.

Gorgeous and very comfortable property situated in the heart of Abruzzo

We stayed at five different accommodations during our eight days in Italy and this was BY FAR the best. Great location (views are STUNNING), great people, great room, great property, great food, great EVERYTHING. Immediately felt at home here and welcomed by the family that owns this. Dinner was an amazing 5 course meal and breakfast was perfect to eat on the terrace. The wine was amazing! So many cats and dogs to love on and everyone staying here was extremely friendly. I would recommend this place a million times over.

Not even a con, but the drive and roads up to the property were narrow and tough to drive for a small city car. The drive was part of the experience though and there were such amazing views along the way!

All the owners and stage are very helpful. Place is very nice not what I expected it to be. In a great way. I love the place

We stayed 3 nights and took the car from the Agriturismo to do some hiking around the Maiella massif. We enjoyed the beautiful landscape, which can be seen directly from the room. Food was always very appreciated (we had good dinners in the evening as well as the amazing breakfasts). The hosts were friendly and it feels you are treated as a guest rather than a customer.

It would make sense to have a couples of chairs on the room terrasse with a view of the Maiella! It is a minor thing, and maybe we were there just too early in the season.

When I see near perfect online reviews, I’m sometimes suspicious if they’re ‘real’ reviews. But after staying here I’m wondering why everyone didn’t give perfect reviews. “Wow!” This property is beautiful! The location, property, rooms, and service were all outstanding. Our stay was in mid-March and while there was still a wintery feel outside, the trees were starting to bud and we had amazing weather. It’s very peaceful at this location with beautiful views all around. The room was beautiful and had a rustic feel but was clean, well designed, well decorated, great use of space, and had modern amenities. The communities in the area are enjoyable and there are natural as well as historical attractions in the area. The previous two places we had stayed on our road trip vacation had horrible beds. We were so relieved to arrive and find a very comfortable and spacious bed that allowed us to get great sleep. My only complaint about the room is that the headboard and footboard of the bed were not actually attached to the frame holding the mattress. Because of this, if I accidentally touched either the headboard or footboard, it easily moved and squeaked a lot. Since I’m taller I had to try to place myself perfectly in the middle to avoid bumping with my head or feet while sleeping. They offer breakfast and dinner services. We only took them up on one day of breakfast since we were out exploring the area all the other times. We hope to be able to go back soon to stay here.
