good hotel friendly staff will be going back for a mountain bike weekend

More of an Inn than a Hotel. Although had to go through Bar to check in it was friendly. All staff where pleasant and helpful. Room (4) was well appointed with very nice en-suite facilities. Whilst there was some noise from the bar below it wasn't too disturbing. Parking was a problem one night with several vehicles having to manoeuvre to allow us in. The breakfast was very nicely cooked and well presented. A very pleasant stay.

Was a 2 night stay so was surprised that our room was not made up after the 1st night. Beds were unmade, and tea/coffee not replenished when we returned to our room after a long day. When we brought this to the attention of staff member when checking out, were told that we should have requested that this be done which surprised us because we thought that as a hotel this would be done automatically.

This is a really mixed review. First the positives, lovely lady greeted us and showed us to our rooms and the rooms are fantastic, ours had just been refurbed, new everything and comfy bed. first class, you would pay double for the quality of room. BUT its on the main road, and single glazing, not a huge issue but it is above a pub and we timed it badly - festival week so lots of music etc. but that's not the pubs fault. in short its a high street pub and rooms above, limited parking round back but we parked. great breakfat on offer from 8am but we left early each day so owner arranged cereal. Mega service we just were unlucky on the date - but brilliant price too - so just plan ahead. we had ear plugs for the 2nd night and slept well!
