Park Hotel Elefante

The location, close to the city and airport, is good. It is quite far to Lake Garda, and a car is necessary. Furthermore, the only good thing that can be said is that we were welcomed and treated kindly.

The building, the garden, the swimming pool, and the rooms are completely run-down and unmaintained. Faded glory where no money has been spent or effort made for at least 20 years to keep everything in even a more or less acceptable condition. The facade needs a new coat of paint, and all exterior joinery (doors, windows, outbuildings, etc.) needs to be replaced. All areas (reception, lounge, restaurant, terrace, restaurant, rooms, etc.) have walls with crumbling plasterwork that are hidden as much as possible with old, dark, worn-out, and broken furniture. The swimming pool (dirty, full of dead leaves…), sun loungers, and the entire surrounding area were in a deplorable state. The garden (quite large) is unmaintained and overgrown with weeds, all the ornaments (statues, ponds, fountains, garden arbors…) are broken and look sad. There was room service almost every day (bed made, fresh towels and shower gel if needed, waste bin emptied…). Light cleaning, but due to the lamentable condition of the room and the dilapidated furnishings, the room always seemed dirty. The bathroom was old-fashioned and completely run-down. Far too few power outlets and outdated electrical wiring. The breakfast was mediocre and monotonous, not inviting. The bread was stale or from the freezer almost every day. To be on the safe side, we did not try the (run-down) restaurant, as there were almost never guests eating there in the evening. It was a matter of switching off our brains and going out all day so that we would be confronted with the situation on the ground as little as possible. The photos on the BOOKING site (and others) are by no means representative. The requested “budget” price for an overnight stay is even too high here. I can't believe there are so little bad reviews.

Ottimo hotel a Verona con una posizione comoda. Le camere sono pulite, spaziose e ben arredate, molto confortevoli per il soggiorno. Il personale è gentile e sempre disponibile, creando un’atmosfera accogliente. Abbiamo apprezzato anche la tranquillità e la cura dei dettagli. Il parco è molto bello, ideale per una passeggiata serale. Soggiorno molto positivo, torneremo volentieri!
