Garden faces the river while having your own private onsen with view of the sunset. Room is excellent with separate entrance and living dining room and bedroom opening up to the moss garden. Great staff attitude and service and excellent private dining in the comfort of your room. Location is great and just a short walk to shops and restaurants along the river walk

I was looking to give myself a treat after backpacking for a couple of weeks. Having the experience of trying a Japanese style room was amazing. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are amazing! Will definitely come back

It was one of the best experience ever for a hotel or resort. The staff was very polite and nice. The breakfast was fenominal and we enjoy the onsen very much.... it was a welcome relive after a while day of traveling the city.

I thought it was too expensive for one night sleep, but after experiencing traditional style room, super clean hot tub, best location, superb quality of breakfast and almost servant-like service, I thought it is totally worth it. I would recommend to anyone I know.

Great location in Arashiyama. Elegant hotel with wonderful staff.

The ryokan is located right beside a river. Very beautiful landscape and view. If you plan to spend a day or so in Arashiyama, this hotel is a great choice. Delicate Japanese style garden and room, comfortable futons and hot tub. The staff was very friendly and polite. The in-room breakfast was great, even better tasting than the cuisine we had in an expensive restaurant nearby the hotel.
