Not much

Tiny room for two people, broken sink, pokey plastic shower more suited to a caravan. You cannot stand under the shower. Everything tired and ancient. Thin walls. Woken by a guest snoring in next room. Dead and dying plants in dining room. Old crockery. The whole atmosphere of the place is tired, gloomy and unwelcoming. We were charged for a full buffet breakfast although we only had bread and tea/coffee. Left a day early after two nights as we hated it.

The location was lovely, in the middle of the mountains with a direct access to the slopes. The hotel offers excellent breakfast and dinner options, with typical dishes from the region and local products. The tenants are lovely and extremely helpful ! The hotel is a family owned business, and we felt at home and very well taken care for ! We are planning on coming back as soon as possible to explore the region in the summer time, you have many lakes around to visit and hikes with must see views !

Amazing welcome from everyone: the host, staff and fellow guests at Les Touristes, and from everyone we spoke to around the village (all French). The rooms were of a larger size than I was expecting for the price, the bed was comfy and the food was great. The room service lady made everything immaculate each day - thanks! Abondance itself is a pretty little village with half a dozen restaurants that I saw on the main strip. There's also a ski hire shop (which we didn't use), a pharmacy and a bar or two. Unfortunately the ski lifts in Abondance were closed due to lack of snow, but we suspected this might be the case given the altitude and the fact it was early March. We drove up to Châtel or Pres-du-Joux instead. There was plenty of parking behind the hotel which made things easy for us, although there's a regular (free) bus service too. I can wholeheartedly recommend Les Touristes and Abondance itself to other travellers. I hope to return soon.

Abondance might be a little quiet for the tastes of some. But personally, I found it charming and the people really friendly. You'll save quite a bit by staying a little further out from the larger resorts, too.

Très mauvais rapport qualité prix de la restauration: lardons industriels trop salés dans la tartiflette; crème caramel insuffisamment sucrée; pavé de viande rachitique; petit déjeuner buffet pauvre (nous aurions aimé autre chose que du jambon blanc visiblement sorti de son emballage sous vide depuis peu alors que le fromage était très bon)... tout ça pour 120 € à 3. Nous n'avons hélas pas le pouvoir d'achat de nos amis Suisses...

sejour tres agréable accueil chaleureux tres belles randonnées dans une très belle région; hotel agréable, acceptant nos chiens sans supplément. NOUS Y RETOURNERONS SUREMENT
