Hotel Gulliver

For business reasons I'm visiting the area 4-5x a year. Unfortunately the hotel offer on the Belgium side of the border is very poor, so I took the decision to drive another 10km from Arlon and get into Luxemburg and I didn't regret it. Very nice family run hotel, exceptionally friendly reception staff. The hotel has a restaurant (only had breakfast which was fine) and a cafe with terace. Rooms are very clean and equiped with fantastic new beds and bedlinnen. The rest is simple, functional and clean! It's close to a railway track (which I didn't know) but not too much trouble, only 2-3 trains passing by, but it's nice if you're aware so you don't get confused about the sound. Free parking. Great value for money, will absolutely return.

The staff went out of their way to accommodate us, even though the hotel was full. They even managed an extra night in the same room after I discovered I had underbooked by a day. The breakfast is sumptuous and varied. The staff are multilingual and extremely nice. The only problem we had was a very noisy A/C that had little cooling power. (It was unseasonably hot in Luxembourg for end-May.) Sports teams of all kinds stay here so when I told them about running the night marathon, they took it all in stride!

I usually stay in big corporate hotel (hilton / 4 season / marriott..) because when i'm on a business trip i want to avoid chaotic experience and rather stay somewhere with global standards. In that case, i prefered to select and hotel close to my meeting and it was for one night so i wasnt risking much. FIrst of all, it looks much better than on the picture. We arrived late night and it was really nice. The check in was fast and efficient and we were giving our rooms in less than 3 minutes. Of course the design of the room is not modern and made by a famous designer but it is clean and big. Big bed, huge bathroom, enough lightening and big windows. Everything works perfectly (hot water / bug tub / soft bed sheets / spotless). The bedroom tv is too small and the image quality is bad (IPTV), the fridge is empty (no mini bar). However and this is really important for my job, the internet connection is what it should be everywhere in the world. This is what i called to be up to date. Optic fiber connection (over 50megas per second in download and upload) for free. I have been so many times disappointed with hotel wifi that i usually dont use it no more and prefer to use my 4g phone as a router. In this hotel, forget about your phone, enjoy a real internet connection. Breakfast of the other hand, is really so so. Coffee is ok but the food is not what you would call a good breakfast (bad pastries / few cheese...) i don't mind as i don't eat breakfast but for those who need a good one...it won't really work. Anyhow, overall, people are nice hotel is clean and quiet, if i had to come back to this place, i surely will stay there.

Very clean and comfortable rooms. Food in the restaurant was super - a taste of Italy in Luxembourg! Staff was friendly and willing to please! A bonus was when one of the owners joined us to celebrate our success in the competitions of the day.
