Ojai Retreat & Inn

The breakfast was delicious with lots of choices. There were plenty of towels and blankets and pillows. As a librarian, I loved that there was a lending library for reading while on the property with an emphasis on Ojai and Ojai people and personalities, for example J. Krishnamurti. The view and the scenery was spectacular. The ambiance of the Ojai Retreat and Inn was serene, calm, warm and welcoming. My friend and I enjoyed our overnight stay and enjoyed a nearby day spa the next day as well as taking walks in town and visiting yard sales and lunched at a local eatery. I would certainly delight in staying here again and will recommend the place and your town to family and friends.

The bed and the pull out couch were good. We could not put the couch back together and the bed in the couch was supposed to slide back into place. We could not figure it out. Sorry. The air was too dry and we needed a humidifier.

Location is perfect, wonderful environment, the rooms are really cozy , breakfast is great and such as superior service from staff. I love it!

Beautiful property outside of town. It really was a retreat property and the enormous deck overlooking the landscape was divine - a peaceful and special place. Not as much land to walk around as I would have expected, but plenty of places to sit, stay still, and take it all in. Great generous breakfast and I appreciated that tea and coffee were available later in the day. The library full of books was also a pleasure. I look forward to my next stay.

Room furnishings, while abundant, were horrible looking. I felt like I was in someone's grandparent's basement in the Midwest, with all the leftover odds and ends furnishings-wise. The mattress was comfortable but the pillows were lumpy and cheap. Gentleman who worked at the front desk apparently opened the door to our room to leave paperwork and tell my sleeping partner to fill it out - on the day we were leaving! Very invasive and unprofessional.

The property was serene, clean, and surrounded by stunning natural scenery. It created the perfect environment to unwind and reconnect.

The stay was wonderful overall; the only missing convenience was on-site laundry. It would have been a helpful option during a longer stay. We understand this isn’t always standard, but it would have made the stay even more comfortable.

I thought the breakfast was little more than a variety of Continental options. Very little protein options. Not sufficient to address my personal medical concerns, so we had to go get additional breakfast.

Experience was underwhelming considering the value expected from the website descriptions and price charged for the accommodations. While plantings were nice, they were not extensive, and didn't look like they'd received recent tending.
