Hotel Riu Cabo Verde - Adults Only - All Inclusive

Location of the hotel on the beach. The rooms were clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Well maintained grounds. There was A/C in the small gym. Good buffet - wide range of fish and meat - but lacking vegetarian options. (Forget it if you're vegan) Enjoyed the musicians and singers in the lobby and the main stage for New Year's. The beach also has palm trees which provides some nice shade.

Very noisy at lunchtimes with very loud music from the nearby Funana entertainment stage. Had to hunt for available and unbroken sunloungers on the beach and then had to drag it to where you wanted to sit on the beach without any help. Difficult for older or for people with disabilities. Lack of vegetarian protein options (ie tofu, chick peas, lentils) at meal times, although we did speak to the hotel manager and a chef did try and accommodate. You can't easily get into the specialist restaurants because they're fully booked even before we arrived. Big hotel complex and it got busy in the buffet at meal times - as you would expect. A bit far from Santa Maria town Warning - The sea at the nearby beach was often too rough and dangerous to swim and had red flags up as warning signs. It may be because we went in December.

The food was really good. There was a lot of options for everyone: vegetables, meat, fish, everything was good. This is not easy in such a big hotel. Staff was super nice and helpful!!

It all comes down to really bad value for money. At 450 euros a night, it was just all disappointments. Room - In the reviews, people say it's outdated. This is a misunderstanding - The room was recently renovated, but it was very poorly renovated. So you got a brand new shower, but everything else is old. (Also, we had cockroaches running around the room, but I guess there's not much they can do about that) Pool - Like everyone else saying, the pool is great, but people put their towel to reserve a seat and if you come after 9:30 there's nowhere to sit. Again, this all comes down to value for money.

Preu d'hotel 5 estrelles exageradament alt per una habitacio amb humitat (la pudor a humitat se sentia des del passadis exterior). Cap sensacio de comfort. El menjar no estava a l'alçada d'un 5 estrelles i els diversos restaurants especials del complex estaven ja reservats quan vam arribar pels 3 propers dies. Inacceptable. Mai mes en un Hotel Riu.

Le confort de la chambre et la disponibilité du personnel

Le jour de notre arrivée, en milieu de journée, impossible d'obtenir des serviettes de piscine car il n'y en avait plus sans qu'on puisse nous dire s'il y en aurait avant la fin de l'après-midi. L'animation et en particulier la musique en permanence autour de la piscine et à la plage avec la musique diffusée par le bar: impossible de trouver un endroit tranquille alors qu'on est là pour se reposer. La tranquillité qu'on recherche dans un établissement adults only est donc hors d'atteinte à cause de cette ambiance bruyante. Autour de la piscine, il est très difficile d'avoir de l'ombre car les trop rares parasols, dont la toile ressemble plus à une moustiquaire qu'à autre chose et laisse passer les rayons du soleil, sont inefficaces, ce qui est invraisemblable sous les tropiques, tandis que les emplacements situés sous une véritable tenture sont pris d'assaut et difficiles à obtenir, sauf à venir réserver sa place en y déposant ses affaires avant d'aller au petit déjeuner.
